Whenever people bring up that racist canard about "there was slavery in Greece and Rome, too" I reiterate the point you've made here as being one of the MANY contrasts between old world and new world slavery---in the old world a child born of a slave mother was NOT automatically a slave--in the new world it was.

In Greece or Rome, Robert E. Lee and the entire Army of Northern Virginia would have been sold into slavery as soon as they surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse. And when he got done burning Tara to the ground, Sherman would've put Scarlet O'Hara up on the auction block with the rest of the survivors of his march to the sea. "No reconstruction for you!"

Admiralty law makes PERFECT SENSE in Houston, New Orleans and any other place that has PORTS...nothing to do with 'sovereign citizen'....BTW, I've been in the legal profession for 40 years and worked Admiralty law along with many other types including oil and gas (Texas), energy (Louisiana)....I could keep going....none of this means Schwartz should not retire...he should, but his complaint looks like he decided to air all his grievances in one lawsuit.
