His grandfather was a pimp that ran a brothel.

I read his mother was born into poverty, but saved for getting passage, and then worked as a maid, and that's perfectly respectable work.

I think trump hates women because that's the 'tell' on weak-minded malcontents with anti-social tendencies.

There's a reason they ban gun ownership from men who beat up their partners: the statistics are on a lock.

Gee: They don't look guilty and panicked in their uber-wealthy compound in super poor Kentucky.

I don't think they are afraid of soy boy liberals, and I don't think there's a Black man within miles of them.

So what gives? What has them so ... nervous? Was it all those tax breaks he voted for the rich? Or was it how he earned his nickname: 'Mr No'? Because Masshole here voted down every other motion for years, even the ones that would help his 'suffering' constituents, like healthcare, or pandemic relief, or infrastructure that would bring jobs.

He should read up on Chekhov's rule about staging the gun in act one.

I'm not sarcastic when I say that. I'm just tired and jaded.

Though in all honesty, I'd probably leave off the "you're naive" bit, because it's a bit rude. Life sucks enough right now without me making it worse.

That has the benefit of being really amusing to contemplate, therefore you win and I add my wishing to this scenario!

It's coming. It's just more Sturm und Drang, then wiggywoo.

Silence can signal indifference, but I don't think Schiff and Pelosi are about to wander off and forget.

Silence can also signal they media boys aren't getting inside. That's probably prudent since grey lady has sold out. WaPo is gone. Pecker isn't the only one who can catch and kill a story.

Silence can mean (hopefully) there are bigger things afoot. Because this really isn't about tfg, it's about all the covert manoeuvrings, and the dark money backers. Put away trump, what have you solved? Cruz, Hawley, Cotton, Pompeo, Barr, DeSantis, et al (ad mausoleum) step nimbly into the breach, and we are right back to Authoritarian Slow Moving Coup.

We have too many moving pieces to rush a hasty and poorly done investigation, starting with: Who owns The Federalist Society, and why don't we know? They backed Citizens United, and they train RNC operatives and provided many, many of the corrupt administrations worst: from the State department, to the boffos in the oval office. It's a real murderer's row over there. Lawyers and judges and wonks, all marching as if to war from their hallowed and secretive halls, most with dubious credentials except for one: loyalty to the Brand.

Nah - The author said it would be wonderful and hopefully it's happening in back rooms, but right now instead of getting too focused on accountability for the past, focus on the present and near future. After all, We can't do much about the past - especially not right now when the future teeters - but we can do something about the upcoming elections like write post cards, getting home truths out there, demanding the press start showing the cost of R obstructionism and realize inaction Is action, demand the press start covering D accomplishments better, and with more honest comparison with the past administration's "accomplishments"... We can deal with the past and accountability better from a position of strength. You want accountability? How is losing the mid terms going to further that? So, hoe the row toward a crop of Ds then push for accountability. Back burner is fine For Now.

"So, yeah, we're all in favor of an obstruction indictment for Trump — if anyone earned it, it's that guy."Probably never, because CI? Sounds so likely (and explains a few weird oversights on the part of the feds otherwise, no?): https://gregolear.substack....

Thank you.Thank you. I get it's good to vent, and we are all fecking exhausted and worried. But that said, this is the time for mental toughness, because it really is up to us, or we will face consequences far beyond tfg being malignant and repulsing to us before we shut off our phones and go to bed.

I'm not getting loaded onto that train: I know where it's taking us.

If you are walking around saying the GQP will win 2022, or it's all bad any way: Why? Why broadcast that hopelessness? No one actually knows, and yet here they come, dressed like us, talking like us, telling us to give up.

Remember the Debbie Downer character? Don't be Debbie. Build Back Better Betty is better company, trust me.

That means all of us. And if you're feeling bad from the news cycle, I get it. I am watching my bodily autonomy being taken away. But maybe bemoaning the futility of it all isn't the best way to deal. Maybe you end up giving an unwitting 'in' to the pseudo-lefty trolls lurking about, because trust me: they are here.

How we talk about our future in the comments should be how we speak in a public space. Tone matters, and so does attitude. Make cynical jokes, be my guest, but sometimes that sarcasm reads as an dis-affirmation statement, so maybe twice think about that is received by others who lurk.

So buck up, or think twice before you drag everyone down to your 'I just can't deal' mental space. Because by the looks of things, it could well happen whether you're ready to deal or not.

We need to be more victory garden, and less 'Florida man' cynical. This is our election, our future, and ours to lose. Thank you. Thank you.
