After this God forsaken shit of a week, I left the office to to my train. Twenty minutes later I sit down on the train and see that I left my phone at the office. Another 20 minutes, retrieve my phone get back to the station, and missed a train.
Mario is ruined for me. Every time I pop in a Mario Kart to play with someone, poor Toad is now forever known as Donald Trump's penis.:( https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
From what I gathered, there are (or were) traditions among Anglicans or Protestants of writing down in the family bible the names of the family's members. It's an act of communion - of keeping the family together - and it helps keeping track of all blood connections. It isn't a stretch to imagine that on occasion, family's guests like pastors or other local important people could be invited to add their name. The family honor their guest by 'adopting' him, like some sort of honorary uncle, the guest honors the family by leaving his exalted name among the mundane ones of the family.
In short, it's basic fan-going. I'll let theologians figure out if this is infringing on the commandment about not worshiping false idols. That being said, I have no idea if any of the protagonists - Trump, his staff, the people whose bible was signed - was aware, if only dimly-remembering, of such traditions. For all I know, they just re-invented the autograph book.
Can we call Trump supporters a weird fringe cult now?
I don't see why not.The tl;dr: version of my non-comment is that, by having Trump signing their Bible, these people just adopted Trump in their family.
Absent further details, it seems possible that he read it and is highly critical of it. You only said he asked if you read it, not that he thinks it's fact.
So..Neither my cool sister or myself can get in touch with our mom.It seems that she had blocked our numbers from Moms phone.I am so goddamned pissed right now.Y'all have no fucking idea.I mean, really. Why in the actual fuck would anyone do that? This is abuse!JFC I CANNOT HANDLE THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW.
I am a PhD in educational measurement and my career is developing tests of language, intelligence, and general development. I am here to tell you that The Bell Curve is one of the best examples of someone running their mouth about something they know little to nothing about.
If you have ever had someone who has listened to a TED Talk about your career field try to explain to you the area of your expertise, then you have experienced what that book contributes to psychometric testing.
I am so sorry you are going through this. I have had three of my four parents break up with me across my life and it is killer. I think a parent walking away from their child, even an adult child, is traumatic.
You tainted Eric Prydz videos forever!
Bastard!
Autographing bibles? Even Jesus never did that.
The Apocalypse must be on the horizon so I went ahead and cancelled my newspaper and Netflix subscription.
Take me now, oh lord, take me now.
You'll soon see a bidding war for Trump-signed bibles.....akin to say , Miracle Spring Water....
A relative of my wife asked me if I have ever read The Bell Curve. I haven’t.
The Bell Curve is racist trash, right?
Should I quit talking to this relative?

There is still wine.
And, at least you didn't have to go ALL the way back to get your phone.
Sorry, it has momentarily stopped raining here and I'm giddy.
Yes.
Your call. Can your relative be educated?
I dunno about the Netflix.
For that sin he shall never be forgiven
He’s like 65 and already pretty well educated.
That's... simultaneously so mundane and so weird.
