It's good that Mad Lord Yam has his back to the blue wave. Apparently he thinks the R's are gonna be just fine.

Currently I have a chest cold and it hurts to laugh. Such pain, I can't stop 😂

Maybe I missed this last week but during the hearing did any senator ask Blanche why he told Trump he loves him? If the feeling is real, you think he'd want to sing it from the highest mountaintop.

TMZ is like the only real reporting there. I'll include Scott McFarlane and Jim Acosta when he gets out once in a while.

Dr. Rrrrrobotnik's avatar

TMZ lacks shame, any sense of decorum, or incentive to maintain access, which honestly in this administration are enormous advantages over their mainstream brethren.

PrimerGray's avatar

My lovely lady said to me about it "TMZ? Aren't they a gossipy Enquirer type of outfit?"

I told her, you watch. They know how to get stories because they are relentless and usually get them correct and before anyone else. Being in DC, they will show you a whole other side.

VaselineHabits's avatar

Harvey was actually horrified about Fauci, the current treatment. So I think it will be worth watching how TMZ handles this

Trying to get the Senate to approve a criminal lawyer to protect a criminal president, that's what America has come to. The normal function of an AG is not even a consideration. Everybody knows Blanche is just a political operative.

Also a race to see if Blanche is disbarred before or after he's confirmed : )

When Trump finally dies he won't have to lie in state

Because he's lied in every state he's been in!

OT: My BIL died (Mrs. C's sister's husband). We knew the end was coming, although it was a little more sudden than we all expected (as happens all the time, I'm sure), and Mrs. C had been thinking about flying out this weekend to say her goodbyes while he was in hospice.

"Remember, both Cornyn and Tillis both voted for Merrick Garland..." Yeah, and I remember that Merrick Garland is the main reason Trump isn't in prison. And Trump doesn't seem to know that.

Randy Bender's avatar

Garland also covered up the Epstein Files in addition to being incompetent and/or a Republinazi plant to help $hitler destroy the government.

Funny how the neither $hitler nor the MAGAnazisphere has ever uttered a peep about Garland.

Bupkus231's avatar

Garland was confirmed 70-30, with 20 Republicans voting to confirm Garland. Why does Trump think this makes Cornyn and Tillis "special"?

Bradthe🤖's avatar

I disagree. The Supreme Court is the main reason Trump isn’t in prison. They sat in Trump’s immunity bullshit forever, then invented presidential immunity, forcing Jack Smith to have to completely go through the January 6th case and remove everything that might be considered official duties. Without that, Trump would have been convicted and in prison, or out on appeal, but with a conviction for trying to overthrow the election results and fomenting an insurrection. That’s who is mainly responsible.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

Don’t forget Judge LooseCannon fucking up the classified documents case, which should have been a slam dunk, and which only covered criminal actions after he was out of office.

wobbly's avatar

January 6th should have been prosecuted long before the immunity ruling.

BARTIROMO: Last time we spoke, you told me you were expecting 4% growth in the second half of the year. The number was way lower. How would you assess that?

HASSETT: The reason why the number was 1.5% was because we imported so many capital goods because we're building factories so fast

https://bsky.app/profile/atrupar.com/post/3mrwywdtnwp24

Bupkus231's avatar

One would expect that the US trade deficit would mirror that - but it only bumped up in May ( from the mid $50 billions for the first quarter through to $77 billion for the month of May - the latest figures ). Perhaps June continued that trend resulting in lower GDP ( one component of GDP is Exports minus imports - i.e. the trade balance ), but that seems fucking unlikely.

Randy Bender's avatar

I was also thinking along those lines before I remembered that Hassett is a gibbering Baghdad Bob moran that'll spew any lies for a buck : )

Uncle Betamax's avatar

"because we're building factories so fast"

Does he mean ai scam centres?

Shocktreatment's avatar

Soooo, nominal gross domestic product of $32.48 trillion... 2% of that equals roughly $649.5 billion...

Coleman's avatar

hahaha --oh Kevin you scamp

Dr. Rrrrrobotnik's avatar

Ok, I don't know very much about economics, but that sounded like a load of horseshit.

Dr. Rrrrrobotnik's avatar

Also, Trump and his cronies continually claim that literally $18 trillion has been invested in the US and factories are being built all over the place. And I have never heard anyone ask, where? Specifically, what is being invested in, where are the factories being created (that are not data centers which will employ a grand total of 5 mechanics and one very sleepy security guard)?

"M"'s avatar

"And I have never heard anyone ask, where?"

To quote Wajahat Ali: "a WHOLE LOT of institutions had to fail to get the country to this point"

One of the institutions of which he speaks is the mainstream press, without the slightest doubt

rawrtigerlily's avatar

What he really means is they invested several trillion into data centers, surveillance tech, and drones meant to be used against domestic targets, and we're all supposed to applaud the 300 jobs that created.

Aquaman, Real Estate Investor.'s avatar
