He is so profoundly damaged that he literally does not understand that extortion and protection rackets are wrong, or why they're wrong, and cannot be made to understand. Harm to other persons does not really exist in his mental universe, which contains only one axis of judgement: Donald Trump thinks this makes him "look good", and increases his "ratings", or Donald Trump thinks this makes him "look bad".

Now, several people have argued that the ad is deceptive

Con-servatives complaining about deceptive ads? Irony is dead because it wasn't able to get a ventilator.

In the end, nothing but a PR stunt. I understand their reasoning for only taking non-COVID 19 patients, because decontaminating that ship would be a nightmare. Of course, with the city on lockdown, there aren't that many non-COVID medical emergencies to deal with.

I assume that none of these people understand that Newton's Third Law of Thermodynamics isn't exclusively restricted to the field of thermodynamics. In all aspects of the world, an action will produce an equal and opposite reaction. Considering how far to the right they've pushed the pendulum, when it swings back, which it will do eventually, it will go at least as far in the other direction, if not farther.

Every day they support the status quo is going to push the pendulum a little farther to the left and make it worse for them.

Congress begged the Trump administration for briefings and reports the law required them to receive from all sorts of agencies within the executive branch. In every single instance, no matter how many requests they made, no matter how they pleaded, no matter how they threatened, the White House responded with a hearty, "Fuck you!"

Is Mr. Stephens suggesting that, in this one particular area that Trump initially saw as a political problem rather than a national health emergency, he did the exact opposite of every other interaction with the House?

Anyone who suggests they know how the Democrats would have reacted to this information is full of shit, because the Democratic House never got this information. The Trump administration would never give it to them.

Don, Jr., Ivanka, and Eric ran their own business, a lemonade stand, in the lobby of Trump Tower. They did all right. Learned everything about how to do business from their father.

When the words "15 people in this massive country have been diagnosed with COVID-19" left Drumpf's prolapsed donkey anus-shaped mouth, how many actual cases do you thing there were? I'm guessing it was more than 15.
