Trump Campaign Was Totes Cool With Staffers Pulling Guns On People

WELP, things just keep getting weirder and weirder with the Trump campaign. What's going on now, you ask? Well, Vincent Bordini, a former Trump staffer, is filing a lawsuit against the campaign because former North Carolina state director Earl Phillip pulled a gun on him for no apparent reason ( allegedly! ) and the campaign refused to do anything about it!

The suit alleges that on Feb. 13, ”Bordini and Phillip were driving in Phillip’s Jeep when Phillip 'produced a pistol, put his right index finger on the trigger, and drove the barrel into Vincent’s knee cap.”

“Phillip pushed the barrel into Vincent’s knee. The barrel’s pressure crinkled Vincent’s blue jeans. Phillip ominously stared sidewise at Vincent while driving the Jeep down the road and the barrel into Vincent,” the complaint read. “Vincent froze. Phillip’s gun was loaded and the safety was off. A bump in the road would likely result in a bullet hole, and worse, in Vincent’s knee.”

Why did he do this? No one knows. But, according to the lawsuit, it is a thing Phillips does often! Bordini says that when he reported the incident to Trump's regional director for Western Carolina, he said that Phillips did the same thing to him.

Now, sure, everyone needs a hobby . But randomly pulling loaded guns on people for no reason seems like a pretty dangerous one to have, and maybe not a thing you would want a state director for your campaign to be into. Alas, when Bordini told Trump's national director, Stuart Jolly, about it, he did nothing and Phillips retained his position. Same deal when he told Corey Lewandowski about it. Bordini just couldn't seem to get anyone to care that this guy nearly blew his knee off for no reason. Isn't he missing the larger point, though, which is that nobody else pulled a gun on him for reporting it? Some people don't realize how good they've got it!

The lawsuit says that Bordini was a "passionate Donald J. Trump supporter. He decided that putting his head down and soldiering on was the best thing he could do for Mr. Trump. He had faith the Trump campaign would handle the situation internally." Which, duh, they clearly did not.

Phillip resigned from his position Thursday afternoon, which seems like a good idea. We hope he will get help dealing with this unusual compulsion, which is unlikely to make him popular at cocktail parties. The campaign, however, has yet to release any kind of statement or even admit that maybe that was kind of a fucked up thing to do.
