I wonder if a raid on an El Salvadorian prison might convince other would-be nazi corraborators or back the fuck off.

Ta, Marcie. I hope that Abrego Garcia is still alive, but I won't be surprised if he's dead.

Not in any way to detract from Abrego Garcia's situation, but I would appreciate if any article mentioning him *also* spoke of the fate of Andry Hernandez Romero. And honestly, I'm 111% certain there are others who are just as innocent and had just as much misfortune to be swept up in Herr Drumpkoff's purge. But these are names and faces we know of, and their stories need to be lifted up so the whole country knows what sort of evil this illicit regime is getting up to.

Trump and the MAGA are not as good as the German Nazis. They can't even do fascism right. NO disipline, NO organizational; skills, NO fashion sense. The MAGA faithful get a wrinkled T-shirt and a stupid adjustable ball cap, not a slick, perfectly tailored, starched and pressed Hugo Boss uniform and cool riding boots

Trump was on today. Spouting ridiculous lies and conspiracy theories. if you believe a word he says you are dumber and crazier than he is. As Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that"

OK, bad joke. But still apt. Barbie was known as the Butcher of Lyon. A primo Nazi, back in the day when being a Nazi meant being a Nazi, not just cos-playing at being a Nazi.

The good news in this story is the 4th Circuit denied the government's request for a stay AND there is a concurring opinion by 2 of the judges that is a true work of art. It's long but worth the read.

"The panel unanimously agrees that the district court’s order requiring the

Government “to facilitate and effectuate the return of Plaintiff Kilmar Armando Abrego

Garcia to the United States by no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, April 7, 2025,” should

not be stayed. The Government’s motion to stay is, therefore, denied. I write to explain

my view.

The United States Government has no legal authority to snatch a person who is

lawfully present in the United States off the street and remove him from the country without

due process. The Government’s contention otherwise, and its argument that the federal

courts are powerless to intervene, are unconscionable. "

A few other highlights:

4 Of note, in response to the candid responses by the Government attorney to the

district court’s inquiry, that attorney has been put on administrative leave, ostensibly for

lack of “zealous[] advocacy.” Evan Perez, Paula Reid and Katie Bo Lillis, DOJ attorney

placed on leave after expressing frustration in court with government over mistakenly

deported man, CNN (Apr. 5, 2025, 10:40 PM),

https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/05/politics/doj-attorney-leave-maryland-fatherdeportation/index.htm see also Glenn Thrush, Justice Dept. Lawyer Who Criticized

Administration in Court Is Put on Leave, New York Times (Apr. 5, 2025, 5:41 PM),

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/05/us/politics/justice-dept-immigration-lawyerleave.html. But, the duty of zealous representation is tempered by the duty of candor to

the court, among other ethical obligations, and the duty to uphold the rule of law,

particularly on the part of a Government attorney. United States Department of Justice,

Home Page, https://www.justice.gov/ (last visited Apr. 6, 2025) (“Our employees adhere

to the highest standards of ethical behavior, mindful that, as public servants, we must work

to earn the trust of, and inspire confidence in, the public we serve.”).

I'm wondering if this (11:59 PM on Monday, April 7) is when the sh*t really hits the fan. If the administration does not comply with the judges order, then what?

"And now another scalp in the Justice Department. Attorney Erez Reuveni was placed on leave on Sunday for the disloyalty of telling a judge that the government had not given him any information on the OOPS … TOO LATE! laugh emoji! deportation of Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia"

`

So, if I'm to understand this correctly, whoever told him to do that was suborning perjury, which is itself a crime.
