I've represented a number of white men in discrimination cases. All of them that went to trial were successful before mixed race juries. That being said, they are an incredibly small percentage of my practice because it is an incredibly small percentage of the actual discrimination occurring in this country. The most common forms of discrimination relate to disability discrimination, sex discrimination against women, including sexual harassment and pregnancy discrimination, and racial discrimination against non-white employees. You won't see those as priorities in this administration.
"So, really, a white guy’s biggest competition is most frequently going to be “other white guys.”
Perfectly analogous to the incel movement BS...Its like, dude...That girl who won't date you? Sher isn't some frigid feminazi man-hater...She IS dating... Just that its another dude who ain't you. If I were an employer, the fact that a job applicant even "needed" to mention he was a Christian would be enough of a red flag for me to nope out on that applicant. He clearly doesn't understand boundaries. If I didn't ASK you what religion you were, don't fucking TELL me because that's creepy, and honestly? I comes off as a threat a little bit...A 'challenge'
Again with the white males. Millions of them suck hard. These assholes will never grow up, take responsibility and accountability for their own lives. They are looking for, dating or married to their mothers.
Enshittification in marriage refers to the gradual deterioration of a relationship when mutual care is replaced by self-serving behaviors, a concept adapted from tech journalist Cory Doctorow’s theory on platform decay. Therapists use this framework to describe how intimate connections can mirror the three stages of digital platform decline: an initial honeymoon phase of mutual benefit, a middle stage of exploitation where one partner prioritizes personal gratification or career over shared well-being, and a final collapse marked by resentment, communication breakdown, and potential separation.
Key parallels include the "invisible load" of emotional labor becoming unevenly distributed and the erosion of trust when foundational values are sacrificed for short-term gains. This process is often reversible through "disenshittification," which requires intentional efforts such as rebalancing responsibilities, prioritizing quality time, seeking early therapy, and embracing vulnerability to restore the relational "platform."
Can any Michigan Wonkers get to Macomb County (Sterling Heights, to be exact) on some future weekend for a small gaggle of Michigeese? A couple of us are sending out feelers. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.
So Mei had her annual last week during workcation, on account of how hubby cannot figure out how to get her into a cat box so I have to be home for these things. Side note: It is not hard to get her into the cat box. I digress.
Anyway, she gained a pound, which for the chonk, was not good. Back to dieting we go! The vet recommended we half one of her feedings, and I found these little meals that are one and a half ounces (vet recommended amount) and bonus, she loves them. I do mix in a bit more water with hers to stretch it out a bit and also, because she needs more water.
BUT now she is worse in the morning trying to get Percy's food. If he would just eat like a normal cat, this would not be an issue, but he is not. He takes a bite, maybe two, then wanders off until she is done. THEN he wants to eat while I spend quality time building barricades and fending off frontal, rear, side, and even under assaults from Mei.
Every morning.
Moral of the story: Shrimps is bugs and cats is cats.
We had a pet psychologist visit when we were having problems between several of our cats.
She mentioned that cats are different from dogs. Unless a parent training a kitten, in the wild they don’t normally share food, and are solitary eaters.
She recommended feeding them in separate rooms (with a door shut) and letting them eat until they stop. When they stop remove the food until the next meal. They will learn quickly and actually go to their room when you feed them.
King Charles III presented President Trump with a gift on Tuesday during his state visit to the United States: the original bell from the H.M.S. Trump, a British submarine that served during World War II.
The polished brass bell once hung on the submarine’s conning tower, the raised control structure atop the vessel, Charles said in a speech celebrating the Anglo-American alliance. It bears the ship’s name in capital letters and the year 1944, when it was launched from a British shipyard.
“May it stand as a testimony to our nations’ shared history and shining future,” Charles said. “And should you ever need to get hold of us, well, just give us a ring!”
The vessel, which doesn’t appear to have a connection to President Trump’s family, is credited with sinking several Japanese ships in the Pacific War in some of the final naval operations of World War II.
H.M.S. Trump was part of the Royal Navy’s T-class, a group of long range, diesel-electric submarines built shortly before and during the war. The submarines shared a common design and bore names beginning with T, after the lead ship of the class, H.M.S. Triton, which entered service in 1938.
H.M.S. Trump was the only Royal Navy ship to bear the name. It was not immediately clear on Wednesday what the name stood for...
They used the names of a lot of gods, demigods, and mythological beasts for their subs and destroyers leading up to WWII. The name Trump is really confusing here. 10 bucks says they just made it up.
Presumably named for the card game term, though, with dozens of men together in a confined space, it possibly referenced the foul odour of a bottom burp aka a "Trump".
King Charles III quoted Oscar Wilde, joking that the British have everything in common with America “except, of course, language.” President Trump said the morning’s gloomy rain reminded him of a “beautiful British day” and noted that his mother thought young Prince Charles was “so cute.” Both men waxed poetic about the bonds between their countries.
And yet, on the first full day of a state visit focused on the shared history between the United States and Britain, the king sprinkled in some ever-so-subtle rebuttals to Mr. Trump. Charles spoke on Tuesday of the value of the trans-Atlantic alliance, the importance of checks and balances and his passion for the environment. He even spoke of his time in the Royal Navy, after Mr. Trump belittled British naval capabilities in recent weeks...
Now, I personally think that the chaos at the EEOC is due to being understaffed and forced to focus on issues that are less “real issues affecting real people in real life” than they are right-wing fever dreams.
Oh, see, I figure it is due to how the Republicans want to destroy the entire agency for good.
Everybody gets this I expect but the pathetic orange drooling criminal rapey moron’s government bringing charges over shells spelling ‘8647’ is of course a bullshit vexatious filing and no one expects it to win. Everyone knows it’s a reference to argot that means to throw the asshole customer out in this context. They sold ‘8646’ merchandise. Don’t recall that being made an issue.
It’s just harassment. Using the government purse to make the life of anyone criticizing the useless corrupt piece of shit difficult.
You know, in some judicial systems you can be found a vexatious litigant if you abuse the system endlessly like this. Sets a higher bar to your bringing suits. Very high bar to get it found and don’t expect there’s even a prior case of a government branch being found as such or it ever being a thing in criminal law. But holy fuck have that sad corrupt fuck and his pathetic lying minions ever earned it.
The article link was also explaining how much damage the DOJ and these judges are doing to the entire judicial system. That the damage will take generations to repair. Trust and respect are gone. The wealthy did this so they can get away with literal murder.

Yeah, those are the employees who will end up in my office. No trying to convert co-workers to your freaky ass religion!!
A set-up!
Yep...!

Cory Doctorow called it the enshittification of marriage.
I agree with his assessment --

I had to do this with dogs when I had 3-4 at a time. I got them from abusive situations so they came with their own set of issues.

Just remember, the law is what the USSC says it is. Final word.

Okay, 4 tries. The scale always throws me. I know it's the game, but I'm not that good. I need help, damn you!
The lack of surrounding countries is often what throws me off. Unless the shape is immediately recognizable.
And then I almost screwed up the neighbors of this one by forgetting the neighbor that got us into a war with them. It's too early in the morning.
MRK's Law?
You can't be any worse than I am.
Many, many times. But I still try!
I commend you for posting the result no matter what the outcome.
I never post my results because I almost always look at a map.

Morning, Birb!
Lovely. The Homunculus will be dropping by the hideous gulag of The Villages to shart word-like sounds from his sagging anal prolapse of a mouth.
Is there a bat-signal for cardiologists?
A broken heart in a circle?
Dunno.
He might not get the welcome he once got. There was a No Kings rally a coupla weeks back and the turn out was way more than I had ever thought it would be.
I'd love to see the people booing drown out the others (including the ones bused in from Central Casting).
I have a colleague who lives there, he reports out on that kind of thing.
Is they learnin' at the Villages?
Some Villagers fight the Good Fight, so that's nice to hear.
Glorious row this morning, cool and sunny. Time for coffee and second breakfast.
A little story I posted yesterday about a little girl's first experience in microgravity: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/64822568/
That's pretty great. Well done.
Thank you!
