I disagree. Imo they laugh at him behind his back and maybe to his face. They see him as a joke, a wannabe who is too stupid to not get himself impeached or indicted. He is a tool and they use that tool like master carpenters.
The really weird thing is that a lot of those restrictions have been rolled back since Erdoğan took power. See, the thing is that the military coup was not only Turkish nationalist but secularist. Erdoğan's conservative-Islamist party actually got a lot of support (not nearly a majority) from rural Kurds who are devout Muslims and were fed up with compulsory secularism.

Ya knows, one COULD argue that since it was the Ottoman Empire running the show during the genocide, the current nation of Turkey had nothing to do with it.... Kinda like asking the US to apologize for things done during the era when we were colonies of Great Britain....kinda.... It's not that good an argument, but one could make it.....

Turkey never fought ISIL. Turkey allowed DAESH safe passage to Syria, where our friends the Kurds fought them and captured them. Of course, one of the first things Turkey did when Trump betrayed our allies was free the fucking prisoners.

The Turkish flags look disturbingly like last year's Xmas trees in the WH. I can't wait for this year's iteration of worstest taste.

He's still trying to learn how to pronounce the actual names of the countries he calls Nipple and Button.
