I think the silver lining is that the US is no longer the world's Superpower. We have lost key allies (and an immense amount of respect) and our economy is in the gutter. (Note that the stock market is not the economy.) The whole Superpower thing mostly benefited the guys at the top; they make a lot of money. Ordinary citizens get to send their kids to war and are expected to be proud of it.
This is drastic, but I think it's time to divide our country into four countries: East, West, Midwest, and South (the South has to take trumpy). This would a an immense logistical problem, but so is the minority rule by the red states because of flaws in our Constitution. (California gets two whole senators and so does Kansas, which also tilts the electoral college red).
I live in California and a West Coast country would be wonderful. We might have to hire so of our welcome immigrants to build a wall around the South (and a moat with alligators), but it would be a huge improvement over what we have now.

When I got my shots I had to pay, but I think Medicare covers them now. If you got the single shot years ago, you need to get the newer 2-shot version; it's far more effective.
