Last summer we had a BLM protest in downtown Charleston SC that turned into a riot. It was pretty terrible, and I had not a lot of sympathy for the protestors, since we're a Democratic city in the middle of a dark red state, and it gave the goobers a chance to paint BLM as terrorists.
One guy showed up with a gun, and was randomly firing at people on the streets. I saw his picture on the news last night, because he had just been sentenced to two years in jail. I was surprised his sentence was so light. I have a weird feeling Trump's supporters will all get probation.
I'm sure these "mistakes" are deliberate. Attempting to trivialize Babbitt's culpability.

THIS is basically all everybody needs to know. As much as you and I don't want it, there IS going to be more violence and a great chance that the Repubs will take over the Congress in 2022, and that will be finis for the USA.
We have had no riots in my small town, but we have had a coalition of faux progressives, fake liberals, and looney leftists™ that decided with a few black professors at the local colleges that they were the leaders of the pack, essentially leaving out the local black people who have lived here for generations. There was a (non-physical) fight and thankfully the locals have most of the power now.
