"On the issue of vaccines, she claims that she misspoke, noting that she did not mean to β€œquestion the validity of life-saving vaccines.”

That's the Rand Paul sidestep. Yes, they work but because freedumbs, people should have the personal liberty to allow their children and other people's children to be infected with polio.

That and her delivery straight out of Ruth Buzzi as Kathryn Kuhlman totally disqualify her.

But... but... states' rights! Government overreach!!!11!!! How is it that cognitive dissonance doesn't make the heads of everyone on the right explode? NM, it's because they're all held together with racism.

And run off to . . . Galt's Gulch? Sophisticated, liberal cities in European countries, of the sort attractive to zillionaires, maintain that exhalted status with high taxes. China will welcome them and expropriate their money, because that's how China rolls. Somalia has low taxes; maybe they can all go live there.

If the voter makeup/turnout in 2020 mirrors the one in 2016, you may be right.

I think it will much more like the one in 2018, especiallyβ€”but not depending entirelyβ€”if a progressive is leading the ticket.

That assessment of Judge Nichols is a bit worrying. I used to think Barr was just a truckling Trumpkin, the Roy Cohn Trump has yearned for these many moons, as Wonkette says, but what if (besides a truckling Trumpkin) he's another Federalist Society wingnut with a hard-on for expanding presidential authority? What if he has strong ideological motivation? (Besides being a truckling Trumpkin?)

She is great. I might have used a Michaela Prince leap but her extensions just make me feel inadequate.

There, I admit it.

He is one.

He's Opus Dei.

The first time he interfered with and misinterpreted an official DOJ report was the FIRST time he was Attorney General.

All those "butbutbut he's an institutionalist"s were lying to you, and they have yet to apologize.

But even if they did, it would be too goddamn late, because they weren't listening to those of us who tried to warn them.

So, what exactly is Neal waiting for? The courts can’t enjoin him from making a request after the fact.

States only have the right to do things that benefit republicans.

Barr earned the nickname β€œCover Up General” the last time he was AG and persuaded Bush Sr to pardon everyone in the Irancontra scandal. Of course he’s a Federalist Society wingnut with a hard-on for expanding presidential authority (unless, of course, the president in question is a democrat). He’s cut from the same cloth as Darth Cheney’s unitary executive and Nixon’s β€œif the president does it, it’s not illegal (again, unless, of course, the president is a democrat)” contempt for separation of powers.

Republicans have been yearning for an authoritarian dictator who would wipe his ass with the Constitution and rule America like Nero. That’s why they were man-crushing on Putin long before he selected our current White House occupant.

Trump is not an aberration. He is their dream come true.
