I'm not so sure that all parents have a cable package that includes PBS. PBS can usually be found on the TV, in cities, with just an antennae though. Intelligent programming for poor people, the gopers are definitely not in favor of that.
Ta, Dok. I grew up before PBS Kids. We had educational TV shows like Fun at One, and stupid shows like Pixanne, Romper Room, Captain Kangaroo, et al. I watched Sesame Street a few times because Sonia Manzano played Maria, and I wanted to see if she could act at all. I have seen that Wombat show three or four times. It was fun.
In fact way many voters did vote for exactly the sh*t trumpy is doing when they voted for him. The fact that they were unaware of this is mostly on them since information about trumpy has been readily available for years.
It is a good citizen's duty to vote. It is also a good citizen's duty to know what the hell they're voting for. They need to learn about the issues and candidate. If they don't do that, then they are not a good citizen and their voting does more harm than good.
The election of Donald Trump (twice), as well as most of the GOP Congress critters makes a strong case for voter literacy standards, laws. I know those laws are laden with problems, but something needs to be done. Allowing idiots to keep electing idiots is no way to run a country. Forcing the sane portion of the population to suffer the stupidity is even more unfair. Non- MAGA people have rights too!!
I haven't watched Lyla in the Loop, but I have watched Molly of Denali. It's a delightful show. It teaches Alaskan native culture and also conservation, and it definitely believes in climate change. So both are probably reasons they want to get rid of it. I'm surprised they haven't tried to get rid of Alma's Way, which features a Hispanic girl. Can't have that in this administration, of course. And there's other shows that feature non-white children. All of which I thought was good for letting children see representation on TV and also teaching them that all the different people they see around them in real life are perfectly normal and not remarkable, much less a problem. And also learning about different cultures is good too -- expands their horizons. And speaking of teaching culture -- one show that specifically teaches various world cultures and geography is Let's Go, Luna. Luna being the actual moon that comes down and interacts with the children main characters of the show. Next thing they'll be trying to cancel that one too, saying since the moon doesn't actually come down or talk, it's just too confusing and misleading to children, the poor dears.
I saw someone speculating that the reason trump was cancelling PBS Kids is because of a Sesame Street episode that discussed the World's Largest Grump (which of course was Trump). And yes, we can all say "that's it of course, he really is that petty!". That and all those little non-white kids running around acting all entitled...
I watch Molly of Denali. It’s an excellent show and woke. Molly’s grandfather was in an Indian boarding school and they mention Native heroes. Also one of the main characters is a Black girl named Trini. Her grandma came to celebrate Juneteenth with the family, and the whole village joined in
If the program was called “Molly of McKinley” they’d probably still have funding.
Making the grinch look like the Santa Claus of the Milky Way galaxy, if not the entire universe. What a sad joke of a near human.
Twenty three million is less than half the cost of the jet that rolled off the aircraft carrier recently.

Ah, Romper Room. "I see Billy and Bobby and Susie..."
We see it more every day.
It's not speculation now, it's clearly evident.
He doesn't have the will to stop.
He will continue taking until he takes all of our lives.

This is because he wants to free up more money for Shelon.
So they're against racial justice. Nice of them to admit it.
Admit it? They positively brag about it.

Representation on TV ... different people ... expanded horizons ... various world cultures ... all "woke," all gotta go
Yep, unfortunately. Sad.

as if they were human beings deserving of existence ...
Trump's thinking goes like this: if it doesn't directly put dollars into his own pockets then it's on the chopping block.

"Madi Biederman, an Ed Department comms bot...."
Hmmmm...... "Madi"..... What kind of name is that? Must have been a DEI hire. Better fire her.....
It is an anagram of "Maid." It's okay for maids to be DEI 'cause they don't get paid that much and few men would want the job.
Someone probably told him immigrants learn English on Sesame Street
