I've given up trying to understand the sheer rapacious avarice that would require this level of money-grubbing for a man of his age. What good is another billion dollars to someone in their 80's? What is it going to buy you other than a bigger, gaudier headstone?
Billionaires delude themselves in different ways - some get blood transfusions from the young, others invest in tech they think will allow them to upload their brains into computers, others just deny reality entirely - but they all think they're going to live forever.

As someone in the biz, it was a royal pain trying to help one-off small investors, who obviously weren't the target of the program, comply with the Beneficial Ownership Interest documentation required. No surprise if this program was canceled just because of that burden.
This is just the latest in the conversion of civil rights and civil liberties into luxury goods, available only to the wealthiest.
Abortion, privacy, clean air, clean water, clean soil, access to natural spaces, justice, free speech, common decency, basic respect, having one's vote counted -- those are now boutique items available only to those who already have everything.
If you've watched the original three, you've pretty much seen all you need to see. And even if you haven't, you've likely pop culture osmosis'ed enough of them to get by.
Star Wars is one of those fandoms where most of the fans hate most of the movies and never stop complaining about them. So based on their own fans, you haven't missed much.
The loudest fans do that. Most of the rest us happily enjoy episodes 2-6 and ignore those guys. Edit: Also pod racing, but the rest of that movie isn't really worth it.
