The for reals lawyers can probably dredge up the details, but at some point in the last decades the Supremes decided that at certain point in the appeals process guilt and innocence is irrelevant and you can only appeal procedural issues.

In the fifties, US didn't give a shit about the environment or health. In the fifties, our economy boomed. Ergo, to make the economy boom, we have to stop caring about the environment or health. It's simple logic folks.

The fact that we were the only functioning modern economy in the world then is purely coincidental

Wind is an increasingly significant part of the Niagara Power Grid. Southwestern Ontario is dotted with solo turbines as well as enormous wind farms, in places where off-the-lake winds are fairly strong and steady. The sheer size of coverage means that there's always something blowing somewhere, and the new turbines will generate power in surprisingly light breezes now.
