here's deaths per day per capita over the last month US vs Italy. maybe this is why people aren't talking about "some of those countries"https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
Yes, I suppose the president of the U.S. is very good at letting Americans die of coronavirus. The country's avowed enemies have seldom managed to hurt it more. And I used to say Trump was good at three things and only three things - believing whatever he wants to believe, playing the media, and bringing out the worst in people.
TRUMP: November 3, timewise, that's an eternity, frankly, as far as I'm concerned! For Trump, that's eternity!
This is the same fucking idiot that said everything would be back to normal by Easter — 4 goddamn months ago! Yet here we all are, still social distancing because he continues to do less than jack shit to contain the virus, and the election is less than 3 months away.
If you're really worried about sending your kids to school, just sign them up at Barron's school. They've already announced they're doing distance learning only.
They don't care. Anything that doesn't profit them directly, or somebody who will launder money into GOP pockets must be destroyed, like clean air, for example.
I saw that a great deal when I worked in state government. People who win elections are people who are good at campaigning. And campaigning's fun for the candidate. They complain about all the appearances and the questions and the demands on their time, but, everywhere they go, people open doors for them, and, when they walk into a room, all eyes and all attention is on them.
Unfortunately, what I found is that people who are good at campaigning are not always that good at managing a large operation like a government agency.
I'll forgive the guy the hour. I mean he's given us a record economy; that corona's just taking care of itself; like a miracle. Do I even have to get into the record unemployment numbers? He selflessly holds pressers and rallies to unite the masses, surely he's entitled to some time for himself. He has a very brilliant mind; one that can remember things such as "Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV" more than once; one does not often see a mind like that so it's no wonder he needs to unburden himself.
My Nana keeps telling me he's going to do great things for this country but he can't right now because he gets criticized. To which I essentially replied that surely a great man such as he can handle criticism and effectively govern. It went on for a while.
It gets very kinky toward the end.
Doing an incredible job, all right.
Right.
sigh, I still can't finish Gravity's Rainbow...

She is not a target; she was a target.
I really miss them and Car Talk.

The homemade birthday card from Eric just did me in. I'm still laughing.

Maybe we can tell him it's the monthly bunker inspection.
