I’ll believe the long, hot summer part when I see it. The Midwest is locked in a loop of schizophrenic March weather, 63 degrees and windy one day, 49 and rainy the next. For the next 9 days, which takes us into mid May, the high for 6 of those days is in the 50s, and the other 3 in the low 60s, with a high of 64. Lows are in the 40s and high 30s.
I’m guessing this weirdly cool spring will give way to 87F and 90% chance of mosquitoes and ticks. We will miss the 65-70F mild weather altogether. Then it will be another Trump winter.

A friend of mine tried to take responsibility for her future security by investing about half of her retirement savings in gold coins as a hedge against the unimaginable inflation coming down the pike, but her order was put on hold while she was investigated for "possible money laundering." (She eventually got her coins but not before she was interrogated by company lawyers. They claimed it was because she was a first time buyer -- hell, I bet gold sellers are getting a shitload of scared first-time buyers these days).

As a frequent flier out of Baltimore, It always saddened me to walk past the Spirit counter where there was always a despondent and very long line of passengers straight out of the People of Walmart website joylessly awaiting to be packed into planes that reeked of despair and to be charged yet unknown random fees.
