Question- WHY, exactly, does America need allies? America is self-sufficient or can be in basically everything, and is militarily unassailable behind two great big oceans. Its Europe that mainly benefits from it, both in terms of incentive to not fall back into old-fashioned internal wars, and for security of its oil supplies.
I like Nato and want it to continue, but dont pretend that America actually needs it anymore.
