I didn't check the news yesterday, so I *could* be mistaken, but isn't it Eastasia we are at war with?

That anti-terror memo is one of the regime's most far-reaching pieces of propaganda, and a clear attack on anyone who speaks out or protests against it. The media will spread this memo to the public, and the regime will dispense it to police departments and state officials.

It is meant to have a chilling effect on dissent, and to cause us to turn on each other out of fear. Don't.

More red meat for the rubes, MAGA extremists and Republicans to foam at the mouth about. They will get to the bottom of this, you betcha. Then they will pardon all of them, because they are almost exclusively wingnuts. Amen.

Reminder, folks voted for this even though warned. Just a wee late for various groups to realize the leopards will eat ANY face.

"You know, if you just confess now things will go easier for you. Certainly, I won't have to use any of the vile methods I have prepared just for you."

"All right. Fine. I confess. To everything."

"You've made the right choice. Very well, then; take him out and shoot him."

"Wait, WHAT?!"

"I said we would go easier and I won't have to be vile. I never said you wouldn't be punished."

So basically, anyone who supports a Dem candidate is in the crosshairs. Bring it, muthafuckas.

Anytime Trump signs an executive order, just consider it an extended tweet. It has that much effect and no one takes it, or him, seriously.

He's all over the Epstein files, you know.

Other than from the GOP saying "Thank you, Sir! May I have another!", NOT. ONE. FUCKING. PEEP. Out of congress! What the absolute, God Damned FUCK!!!

IMPEACH THE MOTHERFUCKER ALREADY!!!! WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED??!?!?!!?!

Just bring up articles for impeachment. That's all. Please. DO SOMETHING (beside write a sternly written letter and plea for campaign donations) ALREADY!!!!!

UnionThuggery's avatar

While I agree with the sentiment, and so upvotes, I feel impeachment attempts are an exercise in futility. Nothing requiring 60 votes is getting through the Senate.

Rad's avatar

It's the specter of having IMPEACHMENT sitting there. And (please for FUCK SAKE) if the Democrats in Congress can GROW a GOD DAMN SPINE, and keep that and Epstein alive through whatever our next election cycle will be, we may just end this clusterfuck of a nightmare to our democracy!

Oh, and Chuckles Schumer needs to GTFO out of the Senate. It's time to FIGHT, not seek out a "compromise".

UnionThuggery's avatar

Not disagreeing with you. I just, at this point I don't see presidential impeachment as an effective mechanism. It has never resulted in a removal from office, and it's never gotten much traction when presented by the minority party in the House. With this president in particular, the details brought out by impeachment hearings didn't even take away support from his cult, who simply chose to substitute their own reality.

This, I'm afraid it's going to take grass roots, street-level action. I don't think any Democratic politicians can really do anything impactful in the short term. Absolutely, do whatever to show they are fighting, but real change it's going to require Republican buy in and support (not likely), or public demonstrations and direct action on a massive scale.

Marycat2021's avatar

It may even be naive at this point to believe we can vote the country back into sanity. People are depending on the midterms to flip the House, but even if that happens, it won't matter much because Trump rules by decree - he simply issues EO's to control the country. Besides, he might pull some crap to cancel the midterms, and although it would be illegal, damn near everything he's done since January is illegal, and the Supreme Court will protect him as usual.

I would do it anyway. Let the Senate "speak" for itself.

Don't forget the attempt on Governor Shapiro and his family.

Amazing how after ALL THAT Governor Shapiro was all "Charles Kirk blah blah blah"

So....again, Stephen Miller or someone further back in the shadows ginned up that memo, then relayed the bare gist of it to Rump in one sentence, two minutes before the presser, then turned him loose. Tomorrow, he will have no idea what any of it was about.

He never knows what ANYTHING is about. When he's asked pointed questions, he's always shuffling away from it with "I don't know any more than you do, I just read it in the newspapers," "I've never heard of him/her," "I really don't know anything about that," etc. Gee whiz, for such an intelligent guy who knows more about everything than literally everyone, you'd think he'd be able to come up with better answers than those.

They are really afraid of free speech and the spread of ideas and information. At least this administration is so inept that it is going to be difficult for them to arrest or indict anyone. All that they can try to do is intimidate.

The more that they try to squeeze their fist, the more people that will slip between their fingers.
