"Fox Gnus had a months-long pubic hairs on fire slamming Obama because he complained he could no longer use his beloved Blackberry"

They probably shit themselves just because it was called a BLACK-berry.

Incl. that he could have used Scavino’s phone, not a real burner phone. AND he didn’t. His White House scrubbed the records! Burner/Scavino phone doesn’t account for records of calls TO Trump disappearing.

Yep. Has to be records removed. Zero calls *to* Trump proves that.

It’s just a phone plan where you buy minutes in advance, and buy or bring your own phone. Its a cell phone for low income and poor people. It’s the kind I have. Part of being inexpensive is no contract. And the sign up is all website, no staff. You make an account, get a phone #, add minutes from a top up card bought at a store and you’re done. They don’t check ID so gangsters can put a fake name. But that isn’t normal. I have my real name on mine and it’s just a phone. Less skevey than incognito mode on a browser. Gangsters take advantage of a biz model set up to not need a credit check or government ID.

My 1st thought on wondering who trump was talking to: Putin. But more likely a subordinate.

The bit you can't do in Australia is buy them anonymously. You have to produce ID.

Yes, there must be people who can obtain them illicitly, but it's not through regular stores and petrol stations etc. If you're buying it off the shelf, you have to produce ID.

I'm not sure if I'm the only person who does this, but if you come up as an anonymous number, I'm not answering unless you leave a message and tell me who you are, after which I will add you to my contact list and call you back. Otherwise, i consider all unidentified incoming calls spam.

Arthur C. Clarke said in 1968 "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." We cleared that hurdle a long, long, time ago. My most favorite aphorism is "Technology's great - when it works."

You go buy a phone at Walmart (for cash) and load prepaid minutes paid for, again with cash.

Damn, you do have a way with words, such an accurate, evocative, picture you paint. (not snarking either, in case it sounded that way.)
