For the record. Both Baconz Jr. and Hambone play football. As a parent Baconzgood does worry alot about concussions. Baconzgood recieved alot learning how to skate and playing ice hockey. But, i also worry about my kids falling out of trees, getting beat up and stuffed in a locker, burning them selves making that great mac&cheese recipe that wonkette showed us, not looking both ways when crossing a street at 30. They play tennis, and basketball too. You can fuck yourself up on tennis, or even competitive swimming (ex-mrs. Baconz fucked her head up during a diving competition).
The point is yes, wether it be hockey, baseball, wrestling, or playing horse shoes. You can never protect yourself. Just minimize the risk.
We have air bags? Football can be minimized .
So when i hear this stuff on football...Baconz Jr. hurt himself MORE when he was on the Track & field team.
And you want to seriously hear about injuries...gymnastics. But no one screams that 17 year old girls need to even wear elbow pads on the balance beam?
Why is that? I never understood why working the uneven bars was less dangerous than a guy smashing you in your padded shins with a hockey stick.
