Ya know who ELSE starved Enemies of the State to death? Funny how, whenever faced with a moral dilemma, Trump asks himself "what would Hitler do?"

That's the first I’ve seen of anybody writing about this, but it seems pretty obvious to me that creating a starving, impoverished underclass is not an accidental side-effect of oligarchic greed. Widespread poverty will ultimately cost them money in absolute terms, as poor people cannot buy their products, and policing the destitute is more expensive than feeding them. But they are not interested in the money, per se, they are interested in the power they can exert over an impoverished society. If it costs them two thirds their potential wealth, it's a price well-worth paying, for them.

JD, your ignorance is showing.

It's almost impossible to imagine a dilettante like JD Vance actually taking over the presidency from the demented, soul-less fuckhead Trump. Really, the couchfucker actually thinks Trump is an ersatz king who can do as he wishes. This is the reality.

It's about time someone clawed back some of the SNAP benefits handed out to illegal, communist, transgender, pigeons I always get stuck behind on line at Wegman's.

A Yahoo headline said the Supreme Court froze the appeals court's ruling to immediately fund SNAP.

Former Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court Roger Taney just took what I believe the afterlife calls a Victory Lap.

Order the head of USDA and all deputies to appear and promptly arrest them for contempt.........then squirrel them away in some shithole on the African continent "We don't know where they are..........sorry!!!!!"

Ta, Robyn. I know SO many people who have and need SNAP. I remember when I did. Universal. Basic. Income. It's coming, although I could not say when.

Marycat2021's avatar

My guess is in 50 years.

And the capitulated MSM carries on: in the middle of an NBC video report on today's installment of the ongoing SNAP drama the reporter insisted on cutting away to the White House because TFG wanted to discuss, live, the "affordability crisis". There is no affordability crisis under Trump, TFG announced. All hail the King, PROBLEM SOLVED! I am *dying* at all this, fuck the MSM for even giving him air time and then cutting away from him to look at us like, "Well folks, that's that. No affordability crisis to see here"! How I loathe them.

Until this shit actually gets enforced, by... i don't know, bringing to heel these motherfuckers... anything a judge says DOES NOT MATTER. Doesn't matter how good or powerful or influential the judge is.

The time of judges is LONG FUCKING GONE.

"demanding that Republicans end the filibuster"

I learned from Heather Cox Richardson's Nov 6th video chat that Trump told Senate Republicans to end the filibuster not only to shove through the ACA cuts but to pass voter suppression laws. There is no bottom.

There is a bottom and we're there. But it's spreading. It's now "Bottom Sprawl".

Yes, bottoms tend to go pear-shaped with age...

A Trump supporter told me that if Democrats wanted Obamacare to be permanent they should have made them so when they created them. I pointed out that in our brave new modern world every single bit of legislation that requires funding (i.e., all of it) also requires routine review and ensuring that it's still necessary, appropriate and functional.

That is, these CRs are PART of responsible governance; at least when people who care about the country are in power.
