Nikki is banking on what I'm banking on: Stroke, aneurysm, arrested and tossed in prison. I'm really ok with one and all of these scenarios.

I would be but for one thing: I think Haley might actually be a tougher opponent for Biden than tRumplethinskin. She's younger, she's a conservative woman who's close enough to white, she's relatively charismatic, and she could give all the right wing Never Trump-ers who might otherwise stay home plausible deniability (oh, we totally wanted to vote for him, so sad what happened..).

She may give Biden a run, but I don't think she make it across the finish line.

I want him to get trounced in November. I know it's not guaranteed, which is scary, but it would be so sweet to watch the giant whiny pissbaby lose again.

I think that while they claimed to have decided to pull funding from Haley’s campaign that the Koch Foundation is still backing her especially now with the recent case resulting in a large fine.

Don’t want Nikki as president but I do want her to continue to be a thorn in Trumps side. Two out of 50 states does not decide the candidate.

I’d pay some money (not a lot) to hear some of those phone calls by GOP leaders begging off RESOLUTION. “Listen, we know Trump is sadly a foregone conclusion, but he still might die of some disease process or heart attack and we will finally be free. Plus, we can keep fundraising off the humongous interest in the primaries!”

“We have pre-spent tax dollars and money donated by the rubes to fly around the country to these primaries on private jets. Let’s not waste the booze and food either, the parties are worth it.”

“The primaries allow republican men a valid, credible excuse to be away from their wives, drinking and socializing with other women and young staffers. Let’s not just throw that away. We all need to get freaky on the side.”

“The optics are helpful. Trump has lost nearly every important office for us since 2016. Each time he wins one of these meaningless primaries, he is a winner. We can show him actually winning something. Even if we all know how stupid it is.”

Ta, Stephen. TFG has no idea what fairness is; and his desperation is starting to stink as badly as his diaper.

He can afford to say whatever he wants about the Republican nomination, because it's in his pocket.

I just hope Haley will stick around at least another month or so to talk about his "cognitive decline" (even though she would obnoxiously drag in Biden), because that would REALLY piss Trump off.

Misread Haley's fundraising pitch... As fundraising bitch..

Sounds a bit more honest...

I bet he doesn't know what presumptive means.

Same as presumptuous, right?

I am bad at math.

There are approx 38.8M registered Republicans in the US.

In Iowa there are 718k.

In NH there are 1.04M.

So about 1.76 million voters have had the opportunity to vote so far in the Republican primaries, plus some undeclared NH voters that I am not counting because math. That equals about .04 percent of all Republicans. I get that it’s possible to extrapolate Trump’s victory from this sample, but if I were a Republican voter in one of the other 48 states I’d still like a chance to weigh in.

Or not, because Republicans are fine with letting a small number of unelected white people make decisions for the rest of them.

There's still going to be primaries. There's a lot of other races besides the presidency that'll be on the ballot. What does the RNC want the state parties to do? Take Nikki Haley's name off if she hasn't dropped out or just leave the whole presidential race off the ballot and let the R's vote for their downballot choices?

New math, (Republican books).. Of course ... 04% equals 100%...

Has anyone seen a is this orange bozo that his use of quotes around random word pairings doesn’t mean what he thinks it means?

It's real easy not to have typos. You just have to hit the right key in the right order every tmie.

I always feel like I'm standing up in some 12-step program and saying, "I'm a ___," when I say this, but I loved diagramming sentences. I thought it was fascinating. Every word in a sentence has a function and a name to describe it.

So cool.

I should do it the “Old Fashioned” way, and finish the process off AT THE BALLOT BOX

not to mention the free publicity he gets from each primary

The problem with a debate is even if tangeranus drooled all over his chest sand spouted monosyllabic nonsense the NBC and NYT and FOX et al would still be like tangeranus wins debate hands down!

Thank you for explaining this, Stephen. I did a double-take when I heard it, because it doesn't sound like anything Trump would actually say.

"This is sort of a democracy, though, and we don’t just call elections based on computer predictions. "

Well, not yet, but I'm sure that by Labor Day, Trump will insist he had already won the general election, based on the irrefutable evidence generated by the Trump-o-Matic 9000 Election Simulator (TM, CP, Pat. Pend.), written by Jr, Eric and Barron, running on an old Pentium Windows 95 machine that had previously been used to calculate handicaps for Pro-Am golf tournaments at the Trump International Golf Club in Dubai.

TBF the only thing that will keep Trump from being the nominee will be his fast-food-grease-induced death and everyone knows it. (Yes, I realize that by saying this I am implying that imprisonment or a complete mental breakdown will not stop this eventuality)

However, I happy for this to drag on as long as possible to give Republicans the chance to shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly over the next few months and waste a ton of money in the process.

You know, there's going to be a lot more names on that primary ballot besides his, and some of those candidates aren't going to be drooling MAGAt mouthbreathers. He's embarrassing a lot of Republican voters.

Bear in mind, the US Constitution doesn't stop candidates from running for president while serving jail time. Two previous candidates, Eugene V. Debs in 1920, and Lyndon LaRouche in 1992, both ran from prison.

I.E. If Trump is convicted, it's still possible he could run for president from behind bars.

Yup, that is exactly what I was saying when I said the only thing that will stop this would be his death
