Of course Russia "might not be" at fault here! Ukraine might have tricked them! "Assemble a hundred thousand troops and close your eyes" type trickery, where when they open their eyes, there's UKRAINE, waiting to be invaded!

Who knows? Trump doesn't know, because it's not humanly knowable.

Why would we sanction Russia?

Sanction those countries Russia sells its oil to; India and China.

That's 85% of their production.

Christ, do I have to think of everything???

Krasnov was sure if he could get his good buddy Vlad to make a deal to end the war (but not the occupation) in Ukraine it would win him that Nobel Peace prize he’s been wanting ever since he found out Obama won one.

Who knew appeasing a dictator and getting an invaded country to roll over and play dead were so hard?

Yes, tariffs . . . on all the non-existent Russian oil being imported into the US.

This moron really is completely clueless.

Putin does not want all of Ukraine - can you imagine the guerilla warfare if he did? It would make Vietnam look like a water balloon fight.

The evil is surprising.

The stupidity is even more surprising.

But what really gets me is how many of our elected officials are fine with this. There are 435 House members, and 100 Senators, and they're all "La la la, all is well in my martini-land".

You misrepresent Vladlimir V;adimirovich. He no want peace; want PIECE. Mondo piece of Ukraine, piece of Baltics, piece of Balkans, piece of Germany (It's just a huge Russian cemetery anyway), piece of Britain

Just like when Nikita Sergeievich said he just wanted peace, "MIR". Sure enough, mir means peace, exceptiin' when it mean\s ;world'. Get a dictionary!

Roy Cohn (corn?) is alleged to have taught trump how to lie, double-down, lie, obfuscate, lie, throw out late-twentieth century terms like witch-hunt, scam, lynching, hoax and all the words that salad mouth uses to show he has command of all the best words, rather than saying he had a strong vocabulary

as someone would. What corn did not know, and trump must not know ... is that every damn person on this planet has a iPhone or a cell phone or android ... and that all take photos, videos and have audio! Therefore, how can anyone believe he, or she, or they or them, is saying anything that cannot be traced, researched or found online after been placed there by a person using any of the above. Every moment that the fat orange-rind faced guy speaks or acts, says A then says B to amend having said A, someone has caught him. Rumpelsuitskin, or Sir, if one wishes, is venal ( his new word for the day). He, or it, sold the presidency of the US, our country and his ass. May he catch a STD from his fingers, and his anus rot slowly away.

The MAGA cult has mastered doublethink, so it no longer matters even if the first half of a sentence contradicts the second half. The truth is whatever Trump most recently said it was.

Putin's looking for more meat to throw in the grinder. That's not a plan for peace anytime soon, or ever. Nothing has changed in Putin's eyes. He wanted Ukraine to surrender so he could occupy it. That's not happening. Tfg will continue to try to extort Ukraine, he seems to be fixated on that.

As I always say, whenever Donald’s mouth is moving, he’s lying. Vladimir Putin has tremendous power over Donald, those taped recordings is only a small step. Donald just so happened to be, a pathological liar. But, as long as those spineless, enabling, loyalist republicans, remain in his pockets, Donald assumes he can continue riding on his clouds 🌧️ .

"Trump Tricking Us Real Good With 'Mad At Putin'"

Please see comic #2 at https://counterpoint.substack.com/p/no-joke-edition-be7

-----

"on Friday Putin upped his demands instead, who could have predicted it?"

Vladimir Vladimirovich ***never*** planned on sticking to the ceasefire agreement. He has continued his indiscriminate attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure:

> "The Kremlin on March 18 announced it had agreed to a U.S.-proposed partial ceasefire against certain targets in Ukraine, claiming Russian President Vladimir Putin had "responded favorably to the proposal and immediately" ordered his armed forces to halt attacks.

Despite the announcement — made after a call between Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump — Russian missile and drone attacks against Ukraine have continued." https://kyivindependent.com/putins-ceasefire-is-russia-still-bombing-ukraine-yes/

Nor has Putin been negotiating in good faith, beyond not stopping the bombings:

> "Russia takes U.S. proposals for a ceasefire in Ukraine "seriously" but cannot accept them "as they are now," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with Russian magazine International Affairs Journal published on April 1.

"We have not heard a signal from (U.S. President Donald) Trump to Kyiv to end the war," Ryabkov said in the excerpt of the interview.

...

According to Ryabkov, Washington's proposals failed to address what he calls the "root causes of this conflict."" https://kyivindependent.com/trumps-ukraine-ceasefire-proposals-dont-address-root-causes-of-war-moscow-claims/

"berate him for not wearing a suit or saying “thank you” enough times"

Plus, the Fulvous Fuckwad, the Hillbilly, and every patriotic American there were deeply offended that Zelensky did not refer to Mooseballs Mussolini as "Sir" every time possible. And they were royally pissed that Zelensky not only didn't say "thank you" enough, but also that he didn't say "thank you, Sir, may I have another" when offered a shit sandwich.

-----

"to make him look the tiniest bit less impotent"

There is not a single individual in the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus' Cabinet or "advisors" who have any potency at this point. One of the criteria for a place the current (mis)administration was that the nominee voluntarily handed their 'nads to the Mango Malignancy for safe keeping.

-----

“I don't think he's going to go back on his word.”

That's because since the Sociopathic Marigold Swamp Monster ***always*** keeps his word -- his word is as good as Pyrite -- he thinks that everyone else will also deal honestly.
