It's because -- and this should chill you -- the owners of the PRIVATE prisons MAKE NO MONEY unless detainees are held for a certain period of time, regardless of said detainees' rights (which have already been violated as they've been kidnapped off the street)
And so Goebbels Miller et al don't pay them their "bonuses"
The snowplow came by and of course my neighbor left their car parked in the street next to my driveway. I'm trying to talk myself out of getting the snowblower out and starting on the mountain at the end of my drive while it's still snowing and windy.
The lady in my neighborhood who has two Bernese Mountain Dogs walked by just before the plow showed up. She looked miserable but those puppers were loving it! One would stop every few yards and find a snowdrift to roll in! I love that my cat does not require walkies.
