The real Trump/Putin game? Getting Zelenskyy killed. Withholding US intelligence is the tip-off, as if we needed one; stripped of aid and information, Ukraine will be ever more embattled on all fronts. Assassination plots targeting Zelenskyy have bubbled under the radar for years. Expect them now to explode before our eyes.

Trump will struggle to contain his glee. Putin won't.

And Trump would be immune to any and all consequences, thanks to a Supreme Court that would deem his crimes part of his duties as president.

Does Zelenskyy HAVE to kiss Trump's ass when he's being supported by other countries?

Probably a naive question, since the U.S. has all those mighty arms and intelligence info etc.

I just hate to see him have to do it, he's a thousand times the man Trump is.

Zelenskyy has never kissed anyone's ass, nor has he needed to. The entire world knows Ukraine's fight is for freedom an democracy, and so they support it.

Let's remember another big similarity between Trump and Putin: they surround themselves with yes-men and it makes them stupid. Well, stupider.

For Putin, that meant being sure that his glorious army was going to roll over Kyiv with ease, only to find that his marvelous macho forces weren't so ready for the job and that Ukraine wasn't as weak as all those people who knew they'd be fired if they told him otherwise said.

Trump seems to have convinced himself that he was going to give Putin everything he wanted (as laid out by Pete Hegseth), steal half of Ukraine's mineral wealth to tumultuous Ukrainian applause, AND be given a Nobel Peace Prize as a thank-you from a grateful world. You only get that kind of bone-headed thinking through systematized stupidity where everyone is not only not allowed to point out the flaws in the plan, but instead must give fawning praise to it once Dear Leader makes a decision to do it.

Trump has systematized bad decision-making in his government. He's destined to be disappointed again and again that all his slam dunk ideas end up failing over and over. It almost puts a smile on my face...until I remember the massive negative consequences that the rest of us must suffer along with.

I'm of the opinion that the best move for Ukraine is to launch an invasion of the US and depose Shit Hitler. I'm fairly sure the US Armed Forces would do a Sgt. Schultz and say "I zaw nosink!"

Call me crazy, but I think after last week’s debacle, the Ukrainian people aren’t going to be too keen on any effort to oust Zelenskyy if the stench of Krasnov’s bronzer and soiled diapers is anywhere near it.

If he can remove Zelenskyy and install someone more pliable, he can then secure those mineral rights he’s after. He can send in our military to help protect the private companies’ mining operations, placing our military all over Ukraine. We would be occupying the country without formal occupation on paper. Share a small percentage of the profits with the oligarchs and they will keep permitting us to operate like that, and also allow Putin to move in.

Trump won’t give security guarantees, insisting there’s no need for them if we are going to set up shop for mining. Why would Putin attack Ukraine if he knows it’s Americans he’s up against. In Trump’s mind he thinks everyone is too stupid to realize that he’s equating our illegal occupation as a deterrent on par with a nuclear stockpile in Ukraine. Obviously, nobody missed how defensive he became as soon as Zelenskyy mentioned needing a security guarantee. His song and dance routine is pretty fucking amateur for someone who’s been grifting his whole life. And, he truly doesn’t think we see how he gives Putin undeserved deference. It’s disgusting.

We already gave security guarantees when Ukraine gave up their nukes.

Now, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, will all go nuclear ... this is the end of nuclear non-proliferation.

If Putin wants a nuclear event, all he needs to do is focus his bombing on Chernobyl and Zaporizhizhia.

Obviously, some people did in fact miss it

Like the White Republicans enabling all this shyte

Like this Pentagon who is trying to erase evidence of diversity in the military under the eye of a declared drunken White Nationalist when Crispus Attucks fought for Americans in the freaking Revolutionary War

They did miss it, meaning they missed how it’s inappropriate. They never really miss the intent. They just lie about it. They say it was the opposite thing because they know what they saw was bad and unpopular.

Btw, I still have a little faith in the military, and not because I’m a military spouse. The military higher ups began having unofficial meetings prior to inauguration about how to handle Trump’s illegal orders and sabotage. There are plenty of military folks who are very angry about Trump’s treatment of their trans colleagues, the installation of a drunken shithead Nazi who loves war criminals, his attacks on minorities, women, and immigrants, and now the records of their achievements, his obvious alignment with Putin and our enemies, and how vets are being treated as disposable. There are plenty who don’t want to have to be deployed against their own country, or be disadvantaged during a battle by the destabilization his bullshit creates.

Random podcast I listened to this week explained to me the Ukrainian people's ethos. (Any errors with this comment are surely in my understanding, so please be gentle.) They have been here before with Russia. Putin does not just want their land. He wants to exterminate them, the Ukrainian people. They are fighting for their very existence. And my personal interpretation of that is: Zelenskyy is not the head of a cult of personality (unlike Cheeto Shitler). So it doesn't matter if Zelenskyy wins an election or not, because that's not going to change the spirit of (most of) the people as far as how hard they fight. So this is all a distraction. (Except for the fact that if Putin rigs any election to install a puppet, then of course there would be a crackdown and a capitulation, and that would be disastrous.)

Ukraine is crawling with advisors from England, France, Germany, Sweden, etc. This is not their first rodeo with Putin. If Putin could force an election he would have done so already. So, he's counting on the trump to do it for him. The entire point is to steal it. It's not the election result that is the hard part; it is getting an election that is hard. Europe will do everything they can to stop it. Can I just immigrate to the country of NATO?
