•Melania and sugar-daddy Trump surprise visit to US troops in Iraq on Boxing Day made headlines across the world. •Lol. Size of that jacket. He looks like a football mascot who just removed his head.......
For real. There is no smooth linear approach into a potential hot air field. The plane will start at the normal 30-35K cruising altitude, drop to 18K directly above the strip and basically spiral out of the sky.
Most ground fire is going to be unguided because by the time you are landing large aircraft the ADA sites are destroyed. So bullets, missiles, and rockets are going to traveling in a straight line ballistic trajectory so targeting is hard to do.
Cruising altitude to taxing on the runway in about 7 minutes or so for a civilian aircraft and 4 minutes or so for military. It's a big ass, fast roller coaster ride.
AP FACT CHECK: Trump makes false claim to troops about pay
•In his first visit to U.S. troops in a conflict zone, President Donald Trump drew cheers when he told troops he won them their first raise in 10 years and suggested it was a whopping one. Neither is true.
•TRUMP: "You just got one of the biggest pay raises you ever received. Unless you don't want it. Does anybody here? Is anybody here willing to give up the big pay raise you just got? I don't see too many hands. Ah, OK. don't give it up. It's great. You know what? Nobody deserves it more. You haven't gotten one in more than 10 years. More than 10 years. And we got you a big one. I got you a big one." — remarks prompting cheers Wednesday at al-Asad Air Base in Iraq.
•THE FACTS: He's wrong about there being no pay increase for service members in more than 10 years and about their raise being especially large.
•U.S. military members have gotten a pay raise every year for decades. As well, several in the last 10 years have been larger than service members are getting now — 2.4 percent this year and 2.6 percent in 2019. Raises in 2008, 2009 and 2010, for example, were all 3.4 percent or more.
•Pay increases shrank during the following years as the administration struggled with congressionally mandated budget caps. Trump, aided by congressional action, did reverse the subsequent six-year trend that began in 2011 of pay raises that hovered between 1 and 2 percent. In 2017, service members got a 2.1 percent raise.
•Trump has repeatedly told service members that they're getting the biggest or only pay raise that they have received in 10 years or more. In May, for example, he told graduates of the United States Naval Academy: "We just got you a big pay raise. First time in 10 years."

I hate him so much.
I am really really sorry. And he isn’t getting that damn wall.
Actually the plane was sighted a few times in flight. The canary theory is a good one. I expect to see him in the future with a blanket over his head.
Hey, Shiva, how are you? Yah, the approach into Baghdad International is hands down my personal favourite.
I knew something was wrong with the jacket...I mean, besides the Mandarin being in it.
The trick is to know which of your people gets car sick and make sure when they throw up they do it in their own helmet.
BIAP was a good one.
Combat landing. A fast spiral with the plane blacked out. It helps prevent being targeted by ground fire.
For real? Or just as a treat?
Trump is just a dick.

Soledad O’Brien. The noted radical? Hey Donnie Two Scoops, hang it up, yer done.
Obviously Donny Trump is a pathological liar, but what I find surprising is how poorly he does it.

Wait, I didn't know that Chris Rock routine was controversial. My wife and I reference it frequently. Someone please explain.
Thanks, I learned something today.
That has been the standard landing technique since WWII at least.
