Joe McCarthy, whom Roy Cohn served as chief of staff, fell out of favor because of his televised meltdown after Joe Welch's "Have you no decency, sir?" line at the Army hearings.
If you put that rant side by side with any of Donald's, which one would look more unhinged?
Fun (sort of) fact: Cohn guided McCarthy toward his fateful collision with the Army because he was furious at the Army for drafting his down-low lover, David Schine, a staffer on McCarthy's committee. I bring that up because even back then, Cohn was an obnoxious homophobe.
I'm reminded of the fiasco of Henry VIII and his Fixer, Thomas Cromwell.
Cromwell rose from very humble beginnings (his father was a small time merchant) to be Henry's right hand. He first came to Henry's notice when helping him get rid of Wives #1 and 2. Cromwell steered the government and the English church, adroitly managed Henry's ego, held the highest political offices in the land, became fabulously rich, and was elevated to an Earldom. He and Henry fell out over Wife #4, and Henry had him executed for heresy and treason.
Without Cromwell's skills, life became a lot harder for Henry. He used often to rage at his new ministers that they'd "made" him execute Cromwell, and he should have had them killed instead.
Trump should also reflect that it's one thing for a thug lawyer to use thug tactics to clean up after a thug real estate shyster. It's another matter entirely to try that shit for a former President who's fouled the Oval Office. No lawyer will ever be able to Roy Cohn for him again, because they're facing scrutiny Cohn couldn't have dreamt of.
They'll probably still end up disbarred, though, so that's something.
Didn't one of the new crop *resign his partnership* to represent Trump, because he (or more probably the other partners) didn't want Trump Stank on the firm? These people are crazy, and they're everywhere.
I had that book as a young child 50 some-odd years ago, and could practically quote it from memory after rereading it so many times. That, and Go Dog Go that Andre mentions.
I read "Are You My Mother?" 7,028 times to my 3 year-old on a flight from SF to NY.
Oh yeah, that one was in heavy rotation for both my kids. That, and Go Dog Go

There are 2 very fine docs about Cohn on the youtubes. A more malignant individual has rarely been minted :(
Is that why his pisser is (allegedly!) so weird looking?

"Hello, Satan? Collect call here"
I'm gonna go with "yes"
Amazing what startling conclusions you can draw, when nothing has to be evidenced or make sense.

Satan don't want him either.
"self-interested, pointlessly aggressive, and sloppy" sounds like the Trump trifecta🙌
Fun fact - the feds used to own Mar-a-Lago😢
He had no decency! It shows how coarse we've become when an appeal to decency is not merely naive but actually ridiculous!
Did Trump's flatulence kill him? Enquiring minds want to know😕
