The Duke of Windsor, was indeed a Nazi sympathizer, but NONE of the Windsors who succeeded him were, and let's not forget that they were on the throne throughout the entire Second World War, including the two years that the Brits fought Hitler before the US entered the war. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the monarchy, but let's not confuse the present royals with that twit.

The British Prime Minister who handled the Duke's abdication, Stanley Baldwin, wrote, “He is an abnormal being, half child…it is as though two or three cells of his brain remained entirely undeveloped. He is not a THINKER…no serious reading: none at all.” remind you of anyone??

If his approval percentage in his own country is any guide, he's no more popular there. As he's hooked harder than heroin on attention and adulation, will he have a total breakdown when he finally gets the message that he's the most loathed person on the planet? In the U.S.A. most of all?

Brother! Tony Abbott walks like a thug and has many of the qualities of one. But I think Donald Trump outdoes him. No offence, U.S.A. I'm truly sorry you have to endure this character for an uncertain length of time when he wasn't even legitimately elected. Google Kris Kobach and Interstate Crosscheck if you have any lingering doubts.

Donald Trump, also, is clearly not about to take any guff from a mere Australian Prime Minister, either. You can read about the telephone exchange between Malcolm Turnbull and Mr. Trump in the WASHINGTON POST. But don't worry, as an Australian myself, I can assure you that you can probably save any sympathy you might feel for Turnbull. His record, Australia's whole record, with regard to refugees and asylum seekers, is a horrible shocking disgrace. Malcolm Turnbull is a conservative stuffed shirt, and it was most likely salutary and overdue for him to encounter rudeness from another head of state. That said, Mr. Trump doesn't appear to have much concern for refugees and asylum seekers, either. He's in a bit of a bind over whether or not to accept a bunch of asylum seekers who've been in limbo on Manus Island and Nauru in revolting conditions for who-knows-how-long, including children who will end up emotionally scarred forever, most likely. Turnbull made the deal with President Obama in the last weeks of Barack Obama's presidency, and Mr. Trump is irked at being expected to honour it. He complained that it would "get him killed politically", and then, apparently, said somewhat more. That Australia was trying to ship him the next Boston Marathon bombers.Big surprise, he tweeted about it. "Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!"It may indeed have been a dumb deal. It was inadequate to the refugees' needs, that's for sure. But the figure is actually 1250, not "thousands", and they are not "illegal immigrants", they are asylum seekers our own beautiful down under callous racist bastards do not want entering this country -- which is blessed with more elbow room than most countries, as is pretty well known. So that's two bloody lies in a single sentence. And if it matters comparatively, this makes one more nation with which Donald Trump has been a tad undiplomatic.

What would be even richer would be to get Charles AND Prince PHillip in the same room with Tweety Bird. Apparently the Duke was a crotchety old man in his 20's, and has not mellowed in the last 70 years. If Trump does try to "erupt", Charles is required to contain himself. Phillip has often be required, but seldom complies, Theresa May may very well regret this invitation. I would love to see the Queen absent herself from the state banquet, and send the most junior royal she can dig up, Edward maybe, or LOL, God help us, Harry! Dopey Don would probably not realize how badly he had been snubbed, but everyone else sure would, and the horselaughs would be deafening.

It's the British Parliament that decides whom the queen will receive. She has absolutely no choice. According to the Independent:

"Donald Trump reportedly told Theresa May he will not make a state visit to the UK until he is guaranteed a "better reception".The US President asked the Prime Minister to prepare a "warm welcome" before he agrees to set a date, it has been claimed. The pair spoke on the phone to discuss the planned state visit, which has now been postponed until next year."

So no worries until next year, when we can all hope that Charles will give him the royal finger.
