Or at least that's how this scam started -- lately they've been getting lazier and lazier with the scare part, at least in the ones I keep finding in my spam folder.
I got a mortgage (not a refi) on a small condo back in '88. Within 5 years my mortgage was transferred 3 or 4 times. At the time, I thought it was a tad weird - and that was one reason I decided to pay off the mortgage early. Perhaps FDF can do an econsplainer on this mortgage-transfer thing.

Once in a while his bot gets kicked off his current server and I don't get anything more until he breaks into another server. That typically takes about a day.
