Take it from the president, kids. DRUGS ARE NOT COOL! The best way to prevent drug addiction and overdose is to prevent people from abusing drugs in the first place. If they don’t start, they won’t have a problem. If they do start, it’s awfully tough to get off. So if we can keep them from going on and maybe by talking to youth and telling them: No good, really bad for you in every way. But if they don’t start, it will never be a problem.

The thing is, primary care docs where I live absolutely refuse to prescribe opioids due to the hysteria surrounding them. So patients are directed to the tender mercies of the local hospital's Pain Management clinic, which is staffed by well-intentioned receptionists, physician assistants, and a doctor every three months or so. You could call it a pill mill if you didn't know any better, but it's actually the only game in town.
I know, isn't it tragic that their voting base is literally dying on their feet while cursing the liberals who want to give them access to affordable health care.

Cousin died of overdose last year, my niece died of opioid heroin combo last week. We tried to help but couldn't, not enough.
