I think we have to give some thanks to republicans.
Thanks republicans, for deliberately doing such a shitty job that you motivated us to turn out in droves to get rid of you! Couldn't have done it without your help.
"Wisconsin Public Radio reported the return of fair representation as if it were a friggin’ authoritarian takeover, with the headline “Democrats flip Wisconsin Legislature, setting up single-party control.”
Have the people at Wisconsin Public Radio been in a coma for the last 15 years? I am truly astonished that anyone who wasn't dropped from the sky on November 3rd could say such a thing.
I've seen that kind of sloppy phrasing in Minnesota too. Minnesota hasn't elected a Republican in a statewide election since Tim Pawlenty in 2006. But this time, we flipped the state Senate from a tie to Democratic majority, so we too have "single-party control." It's a factually true statement, but absolutely gives the wrong impression. 55-45, say, doesn't mean there aren't any Republicans.
I learned that when Amy Acton won, her phone was sounding off. It was Vivek calling to concede. She just let it keep ringing. Fuck him. Good on ya, Amy!
Just saw that Boebert is behind in her re-election bid, and according to the article I saw, may well be "cooked."
The news just keeps getting better.
And if Scott Colom keeps his lead right into victory, that would just be the cherry on top of the cake, a cherry that's far larger than the cake itself.
I think that Mississippi election is at, or very near, the point of the provisional ballots. There's no recount provision in MS law, but candidates can dispute ballots.
The provisionals are probably people who didn't have all the right ID to register, or had moved recently, etc. Many of them will be able to be verified quite quickly.
It's good that Colom has a lead into that mess. I think there are 15,000 or so provisionals. I'd guess they'd tend to favor Colom.
My understanding is that there is a huge number of provisional ballots in Mississippi because Republicans hired an outside company to "clean up" the voter rolls there and booted thousands (maybe tens of thousands) off the rolls for being inactive when they were very much not.
Oh, yeah! I think I heard that mentioned, almost in passing. They hired some kind of credit research company to do that? It didn't make sense to me, except in a Republican kind of way so I didn't really get it.
But that would totally figure. I had to go out of town a lot in the past month, so I paid off all my credit cards the day before I left so I didn't have to think about it on the road. 2 of the 3 credit bureaus lowered my credit score by 25 points (!!??!!) because on the day they checked, I had $0 balances on everything. So I'm not using credit, for that one day, so that's very bad I guess.
Did the 2028 presidential election start? Primaries are just around the corner.
I look forward to debates among luminaries such as Vance vs. Rubio vs. Tucker vs. Cruz vs. DeSantis vs. MTG vs....dunno, is Putin going to throw HIS hat into that ring?
Good luck with distancing himself from the clusterfuck that he very much owns.
Is he also going to resign from the seven other jobs he has? Who's going to be in charge of the National Archives? Oh, wait - that's right. Republicans don't believe in archives. Never mind.
Can't run against Trump from inside the suckingest administration to ever suck.

National Security, advised like a boss.
International Relations, never fucked so many around the world before!
And Venezuela, let me tell you about Venezuela buddy... That is going to an epic tar baby of incredible scope. People will be going to prison for that shit for years to come. It's going to make Iran/Contra seem small and petty and your boy Marco was the number one guy.
I know that "maxxing" just got named Word of the Year by Merriam Webster, but if you ask me, it should really be "dummymandering." Happy to demand a recount.
That's why I say gerrymandering isn't invincible. But people have to be mobilized and keep working hard. Everyone gotta vote!
I think we have to give some thanks to republicans.

Subject was discussed down thread.
I truly think it's how the news is presented now. Everybody is a hall of famer or trying to kill somebody...
For me , the maps are fair , thanks to the stste supreme. Obviously Vos and his buddies knew they fucking gerrymandering.
Tuesday, the voters let the repubs know they don't appreciate that shit.

So, how’s the “Trump Revenge Tour “ going?
Asking for a Senate Investigation Panel
They're getting the band back together, command performance!
Rumor is that a grand jury might be in the audience...
Hope their record goes spray painted gold!
Just looking over tonight's line-up...

Fuckface squaring off against the tag-team of Howard Baker and Barbara Jordan. 'Nuff said.
whoa, yeah!
It’s not revenge. It’s a reckoning.
it’s their stupid projection again.
They were after revenge
so they think we would be too.
Thing is everything they’ve done is prosecutable.
I want trials and
I want them to be put in jail.
That’s not revenge that’s accountability.
Exactly
Bingo.
The reckoning is beckoning.
And a rendering.
And 100% vegan rennet.

That sounds exactly like that kind of thinking.

Yes, he does. He needs to get out of the Administration to spend more time with his political consultants, and to wipe off the stank.
He's such a thirsty young man.
