what I'm reminded of is the dreyfus scandal in france beginning in 1894, where a jewish officer was punished for espionage committed by some of his christian fellow-officers while the military hierarchy not only ignored the evidence of his innocence, but accepted forged "proof" of his guilt. in the present case of the orange fartknocker, innocence is, of course, a foreign concept. but the high government blandness with which the real evidence is ignored, mocked and misrepresented is the principal similarity. another similarity is that while the military court initially got it wrong on purpose about dreyfus, popular disgust at this miscarriage of justice eventually forced other proceedings at which dreyfus was found innocent. so a second shot got the record straight. this seems very likely for preznut dampnutz as well, after january 20, 2021.
