I've been thinking about, like everyone is, why the President-reject is making these moves at the Pentagon, beyond petty revenge. It finally occurred to me that he's doing it to a) show us that he still can do shit and no one can/will stop him, but primarily to b) to keep the entire world focused on him and afraid of what he might do. This is his ultimate masturbatory fantasy: all his enemies are watching and trembling in fear of his power. He'll do everything he can to keep us on edge and afraid of him for as long as he can, because soon we won't be.
So I've decided not to worry about his flailing for attention. I won't ignore it all, but until he actually does something besides conspicuously rearranging the cards in his hand (which Biden can undo), I'm not going to worry that he's holding a royal flush, no matter what sort of smug faces he makes to try to fool me into folding.
This is fascinating, really. However, the issue is that we are ignoring what the Trump base believes truth to be. See, we're dealing with a group here that really, truly, believes that if you have "faith" that something is true, that is what establishes the truth. Science, facts, and evidence be damned! So, if they perceive that Trump "believes" he won...well, there you have it. That's the kind of insanity we have allowed to take root in America.
I do actually agree with him that it is not currently a coup, any more than it's "murder" if you hit someone with your car intentionally and drive off, and they survive. It is, as you point out, an "attempted coup", and so far, a pretty inept one. They're certainly trying to stage a coup, they're just completely incompetent at everything they try, so why should this be different? Pretty sure "attempted coup" is still a crime, though, so I'm not sure what her point is, exactly.
Bear in mind, he may have an excuse for doing so...his "very fine people" are "marching on Washington" this weekend. Even if only 30 show up and get into a fight with cops, that's all he'll need to declare martial law from Maine to Honolulu.
I think Trump is putting all these obedient dummies in positions of power so that they and their subordinates will say, "Sir, yes, sir" when he uses the Insurrection Act (or doesn't, because he hasn't read it) to use the military to keep himself in office after January 20, 2021.
Words aren't going to matter if Putin and his other backers manage to install this vile, amoral jackass without the consent of the governed.
Oh, don't worry, he hasn't.
But her Wall Street speeches

Political Power comes from the barrel of a gun - Mao. This is to say: I agree with you.
