It's quite curious, really. Having spent the first 17 years of my life in a high church tradition myself (I was baptized and confirmed as a Presbyterian), moving over to a charismatic Southern Baptist Church after my parents divorced was truly a shock. In retrospect, I would have been much better off had I remained at my childhood church.
Former Southern Baptist minister here. Southern Baptist churches are autonomous, so the denomination doesn't set qualifications for pastors. Individual churches do. One can be ordained by a Southern Baptist church as a child, if one can find a church willing to do it. It's not exactly difficult.
Jumping in a little late. I suggest Paula get a copy of "Zealot" by Reza Aslan, a man who has actual advanced degrees from actual institutions of higher learning about actual religious stuff. In it she'll find, without even looking too hard, that Sir Jesus was quite simply a radical socialist. Oh, horror. But I know my suggestion will fall on deaf ears. So many sheep to shear, so little time to read.
Oh Evan, you're so precious...you know that all that stuff you're sayin' about dem Torah laws is the Old Testament, and Jesus didn't break them laws because he wan't a Jew, he was a Christian.
If only I would have the motivation to use my ordination in the Universal Life Church for nefarious means, I could be rich too....
Jesus hated religious hypocrites more than sinners, like tax collectors, prostitutes and Samaritans.

"The second one should have ducked, since he saw the first one walk into it...."Or stepped over, because it's a Republican low bar.
But he had huuuge calf’s, or calves, or whatevah!
Ah, TYK. I didn't know. As a recovering High Anglican, I find this... curious.
I'm guessing after. I mean, that's an "I just got the most exquisite new settee!" side hug if I've ever seen one.
Paula has had some work done.

Oh my god is he real??? It almost seems like it’s added in post!
When he said, “God is in me,” ... *brrrrrrrrt* .... well not any more! 😂
Holy shit this is amazing. Thank you!
Temple Prostitute?
"Brother Bob!" Saw him once on TV - wish I could un-see that smarmy money grubber.
The conspiracy nuts keep raving about "lizard people" - he got me really close to thinking maybe they were on to something.
Jesuits are about as far from Evangelicals as you can get.
