On my SATs I was perfect on verbal and missed 1 on the math. All it showed was that I knew how to take a test. Had I any money or if my parents were poor instead of middle class, I could have gotten into almost anywhere. Instead, I got to go where I could afford since my parents gave me gas money.
So what? Generally if you aren't in STEM a college BA just shows that you can stand in line and turn things in on time. I've got 3 undergraduate degrees because I was interested in things but not interested in specifics. I paid the first one and the others were on tuition reimbursement at various places of employment. I'm smart but I'm not ambitious. So I do what interests me and hope to some day be able to quit working before I die.
Because there are many worse white men out there and I am not going to waste any time worrying about a situation in a state where I don't live and no one was seriously injured or killed. Call it white privilege.
