Many other cable networks now are in the business of selling lies - the Travel Channel is all about tracking ghosts and sasquatches and other phoney shit like that. National Geographic Channel has on shows like "To Catch a Smuggler", "Drugs Inc.: The Fix", and "Locked Up Abroad", and there are plenty others that are worse.
The point is that most cabls subscibers DO want certain channela, and that includes their "local" channels which they cannot get at all if they are too far away.
An as for cutting the cord, the number of people that would do that is aways going to be small because they willl still get new subscribers.
