I was thinking the same things you talked about. Since the news broke of Fed stormtroopers the whole thing has become sort of a general community uprising against said Feds, which is good, but if it widens on this basis BLM could be forgotten. If the administration wasn't so damn stupid I'd wonder if they planned it that way, but no doubt it's just the Bannon principle in effect.
But we mustn't forget how we got here. And don't let Wheeler get away with this. He's not the savior, he's the problem, just another mediocre white male pol who figures he can't get reelected if he doesn't give the police union a nice reacharound. I hope you'll be able to make him regret that strategy.
