I used to think that, until the whole damn department stands behind those murderous few. Happening all over the country.

They all need to be fired. Anyone who would sign up to be a cop the way they are currently trained should be disqualified.

Most if not all of the historical info re: racism we get taught about in school is focused in the south. I think all of us get stuck on the Civil War in a way. We joke about Southerners who just can't let it go and still hoist the Confederate flag, but we sort of use that to let ourselves off the hook - we're not that overt in our racism, so we must be cool! There's no strict geographic border where racism just stopped.

My Uncle Don was a Chicago cop in the 70s & 80s. He was the most racist person I ever met in my life. He was not the least bit embarrassed by it. There's plenty of racism all over the US.
