Israel violated the treaty immediately showing the world we have no control over them. If we can't get our allies to honor a treaty how would the world believe that we can get Iran or Russia to honor a treaty. Israel is completely dependent on us for defense if we pulled away from them they'd be screwed but no one mentions that part of this whole thing. Israel started this war for land conquest and they won't let it end until they get it!
IIRC, Osama Bin Laden was miffed about US presence in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Storm, and it was roughly a decade later that 9/11 happened. So what price we pay for this fucking debacle, and when, won't be known even long after Trump is gone.
