These things just happen. Why would you want to ruin a cop's life for ruining a guy's life...more? Here's a new variation on the "Cop Gets Away With Shooting Unarmed Victim" theme: A cop in Paradise, California, will not be charged after pulling his gun and shooting an unarmed accident victim, Andrew Nicholas Thomas, 26, while Thomas was climbing out the window of his wrecked SUV. Dashcam video from Officer Patrick Feaster's patrol car shows the wreck of Thomas's car, which Feaster had been chasing; as Thomas tries to climb out of the wreck, which is on its side, Feaster pulls his gun and fires once, hitting Thomas, who falls back down into the wreck. The DUI rollover crash had already killed Thomas's wife, 23-year-old Darien Ehorn, who was ejected from the wreck. Thomas survived, but was
The shooting victim might be a scumbag but even scumbags have rights. More to the point, this cop shot the guy and made no effort to help his victim so what does that make him?
I'm sorry but if my pistol "malfunctioned" and fire all by itself, the last place I would put it is back in the holster where it might "malfunction" again and put a hole in my leg or ass.
Of course, the cop is lying is fucking ass off, so there's that.
These incidents have been going up lately as police forces are switching over from Berettas, and cops are learning, usually by shooting themselves, that they can't handle the new guns as carelessly. The excuse is always lack of training, like it's some great surprise that the gun may discharge if you walk around with your finger on the trigger.
For all you law enforcement folks out there ( shut up, there might be one or two here, just to see what all the fuss is , for research purposes ) this is an example of why I get so nervous when you're next to me in a restaurant. I realize the vast majority of LEO are very dedicated , highly professional, BUT, there are so many anecdotes that the old saying the plural of anecdote is not data, does not apply on an emotional level. It is video like this that proves cops are acting as judge and executioner on a regular basis.
For the vast majority, their training is nonsense. Seminars, films, etc. so they can later sit on the witness stand and testify to their "training and experience" which largely goes unchallenged because police personnel records are nearly impossible to get in most states.
I lived in Butte County for 4.5 years, and Paradise seemed like a real dump to me. The sort of place where they don't roll up the sidewalks at 9 PM because there are no sidewalks to roll up. Demographically, it's olds. Lots of trailer parks. A depressing place, all in all. Butte Co. is very white, fwiw.

That 'alleged' scumbag, sir.
Oh crap! You're right. Fester is Uncle Fester. Got my childhood memories all whackadoodle.

yep, in his mind, guilty, they got what they had coming.
Fuck it, I'm going to go make a dark and stormy , bake some cinnamon rolls.
Look, if you can't see the bodies they don't count, right?
Right?!

This guy was a walking accident waiting to happen.

The non-commenters who read this site could easily handle "matador costume" or even "suit-of-lights."
One of those lets-name-the-town-after-what-we-destroyed-to-build-it deals.
