Here seems like a good place to share this old but definitely not obsolete story.

*long pause as I contemplate the pleasing image of Hair Furor with his hands tied... with handcuffs... in court... while he's wearing a tasteful orange ensemble with some graphic interest added by the lettering on the back...*

They're the future. Despite the guys like Trump and Johnson getting in power, the future is Progressive. The majority of the younger generations are awesome and a large chunk of the Conservatives and Wingnuts are older. Young people have a whole life ahead while the older will eventually pass away.

Eventually; The ones voting for Progressive parties will greatly outnumber the folks voting for the reactionaries to the point that no suppression or gerrymandering would really work.

Sure; There's a lot of Progressive older people and a number Regressive youngsters but the young generation is generally sick of these bigoted wingnuts, social and financial disenfranchisement, endless war and holy rollers.

Even with the latest mess with Johnson and Brexit, most British generally REJECT freaks like UKIP and BNP.

Britain is a Parliamentary govt. so the people simply need to vote for Progressive MPs. If few are out there then Progs need to run. The UK also has a voter-apathy problem....Most Brits don't even bother to vote.

Finally; Progressive parties need to focus on winning the hearts and minds of the Blue Collars and working class because many fall into the traps of bigotry, xenophobia and hate groups due to feelings of inadequacy. Many were turned off by Corbyn as a person despite generally agreeing with some of his ideas and only voted for Johnson due to "The devil you know". Progressives need to be warm and relatable, explain everything, have a clear mission statement and be able to answer all questions and concerns.

I guess they realized their careers are curtains and did a last ditch good thing to make themselves feel good.

That said; At least they did something decent for once.
