Time for every American citizen's vote to be counted equally. We need an amendment to end the Electoral College and have direct Presidential/Vice Presidential elections.

The media Village of the Beltway (and NYC and Atlanta). Derives from a David Broder quote about Bill and Hillary Clinton from the 90's, about how DC was "our" town (the media's) and Bill and Hillary came to it and trashed it.

Strictly speaking, Arizona was called not by Fox News but by a contractor (Arnon Mishkin) whose firm was hired to do the analysis. His group was kept in a sterile room with no contact between them and any Fox employees, other than the feeds they sent out as they crunched the numbers.

The comments on this story about Mishkin are instructive, especially the last one. https://nationalfile.com/me...

I don't know how many of you watched the Las Vegas press conference referenced above, but it was fucking insane.

Here's what I think happened. Last night on my local news (Sacramento) they mentioned that Nevada election officials were going to have a press conference at 9am today to give an update on Nevada's vote count. Then I read later on the AP feed that FOX News would be carrying it live. So a podium was set up, news crews were present, so that's all Team Trump needed.

So, at 8:30am, they highjacked the microphone before Nevada election officials could make their announcement. My morning show (Sacramento CW31) mentioned that they would be carrying the Nevada Election announcement live at 9am. But instead, what we got was Team Trump spouting bullshit and threatening to sue anybody and everybody for voter fraud , because, dammit, if you didn't vote for Trump, you're obviously a fraudster, and then walking away without taking any questions from reporters.

Never did see the Nevada election officials presser but heard later that they had announced that Biden's lead had increased.

Let chaos reign.

And as long as there is actually no violence, I would have no problem with them demonstrating--except that coming to a demonstration armed implies violence and becomes harassment, which is almost as bad as violence..

Speaking on All Things Considered last night, an election law expert described election lawsuits as "press releases with filing fees." Let's hope that remains the case. Let the orange shitburger rant and rave; he's got a sell-by date that can't come soon enough.

Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord, an anti-Hitler German:

I distinguish four types. There are clever, hardworking, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and hardworking; their place is the General Staff. The next ones are stupid and lazy; they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the mental clarity and strength of nerve necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is both stupid and hardworking; he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always only cause damage.
