I need to stop "joking" about thing like the Trump Administration just declaring federal grand juries as no longer a thing, because that very much feels like the next shoe to drop.

Ta, Evan. I hope some day the responsible (ha!) parties are held to account.

And here I thought A Confederacy of Dunces was a tedious read back in the day. The reality show version is laughably frightening, both because of and in spite of its unbelievably Oh My Fucking God aspects.

This was clearly the wrong week to give up the devil weed.

"How long until one of these dipshits is caught tampering with the grand jury process itself, even more than whatever this is?" From what I'm hearing about James Comey grand jury long, at least if offering sort of made up evidence is the same as tampering.

"growing mistrust of the actions of prosecutors?" That would be a neat trick in my case. But then, I grew up with Perry Mason (the books first and then the TV series.) And other mysteries. I don't remember ever fully trusting the actions of prosecutors.

I went to a career thing about prosecutors years ago. They bragged about their 90% conviction rate. In the q&a I asked why that was their measure of success. They lost their shit.

Exactly. There a few whom I trust - Larry Krasner the Philadelphia DA, others in the group he founded to advocate for just prosecutions, my own Attorney General are a few. Too few.

What does an attorney have to do to get disbarred in this country? Seems like the bar bar is too damned low.

Also too: Stephen Miller is running the government. Stephen Miller is NOT A LAWYER. What he is is a psychopathic narcissist with delusions of grandeur that Trump finds it convenient to allow (nay encourage) him to fulfill, by wiping his NOT A LAWYER ass with the Constitution and treating the country as his stomping grounds.

Trump is a senile imbecile. All he cares about is money and flattery. Miller has free rein to trample whatever "rights" he can until we stop him. We must stop him before it's too late: before our votes don't count.
