I really wish Trump was not building a ballroom for the White House. NOBODY has been asking for one at all, let alone asking for 150 years. Personally, I've never seen Congressfolk, diplomats, and others dance in a ballroom! Therefore it will stand empty except as a testament to Trump's ego and execrable taste. Can't wait till he throws a ball and nobody shows up.
Ta, Marcie. Apart from work, where viewpoints vary as they do in any workplace (and where I never once heard CK's name today), almost everyone I know is on "the left." None of us is celebrating. We don't celebrate violent gun deaths, not even the death of a smug shitstirrer. I'm glad we were sleeping in a tent Saturday night so I didn't have to hear any of this shit.
Can't wait for some sniveling high level MAGA to whisper sweet nothings into Tyler Robinson's ear, about taking the death penalty off the table or some other deal in exchange for throwing the evil "left" under the bus. And, let's see grandma retract all her public statements in 5,4,3,2,1...
"MAGA will of course try to blame a possible trans roommate/partner (who is helping with the investigation)" Larry Twiggs' family vigorously deny that he ever has had the slightest notion of "transitioning": he himself is not free to speak while he is being interviewed by the investigators.
I'm a " leftist". But at least 98% of us don't celebrate this, because we know it's going to be an excuse for further restrictions against anyone who doesn't follow the MAGA mantra.
It's already happening, where people are losing their jobs because they pointed out Kirk’s inflammatory and hateful rhetoric.
We shouldn't have to say nice things about Charlie Kirk just because he’s dead. We can and do condemn political violence in all its forms. We can wish his family well. We can express our sincere condolences to all families of all victims of all political violence.
We don’t have to say nice things in order to prove to someone — whoever that is — that we are not glad he’s dead. We don’t have to prove anything.
Hitler's dead. Do we need to say nice things about Hitler? And Stalin and Genghis Khan? And Caligula? And the Borgia family? And Vlad the Impaler? And all the monsters of history?
I'm not.
I wonder if the root of "You have to say nice things about dead people" is fear of supernatural retribution, i.e. belief in ghosts? I'm pretty sure Christian Doctrine denies the existence of ghosts (except the Holy Ghost, of course.) As my 5 year old niece once explained to her younger brother ("Guys, I am freaking out here!") when visiting my mom's next door neighbors tiny patch of Blair Woods in his back yard, ghosts can't actually hurt you. For example, if one tried to pick up a knife to stab you, its hand would just go right through the knife and it couldn't pick it up, let alone stab you. My mother, a devout Catholic, said it would have been better if she just told him ghosts don't exist.
"Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years. The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to Sept. 10, and in that conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had."
--Gov. Cox
So, what did the family member say. From the quote it appears that the family member and Robinson agreed that Kirk was a terrible person. "They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had."
So, despite all the claims, it appears that at least one more member of the family of ultra-MAGA LDS conservatives agreed with Robinson when it came to Kirk. And I doubt the family member just got home from their Sophomore year at Berkely.
There is a lot of antipathy (going both ways) between many fundamentalist Christians and Mormons. I have no idea if Kirk ever piled on to this. (Don't fall into the trap of looking for logical consistency in any MAGA tropes. though.)
To the people who say “Kirk said some nice things about non-violence, why don’t people mention that?” I say if I told you that you were pretty, but dumber than a bag of rocks, and your whole family was pig-fucking inbred morons, would it all be OK because I said you were pretty?
But Democratic politicians and pundits? Not a one. In fact many are fucking EMBARRASSING themselves and their fellow dems by fawning over him with platitudes...JUST when you think Newsom has read the room, he goes back to blowing smoke up CK's ass.
Newsom is still fighting the good fight where it counts in the redistricting thing, but STILL.
There's some shit out there but ya know... tweeters gonna tweet. But all of the mainstream media outlets (or as Trump calls them, the fake news) were measured and respectful in their coverage of Kirk's death. I watched a few hours of CNN and they had on several MAGA congressmen and their usual rightwing cranks. They were all allowed to jerk Charlie's dead dick to a spectacular white-victimhood climax. Certainly there hasn't been some coordinated-by-the-left message campaign to joke about his death. A stark contrast from the right wingers who are shouting from the rooftops of the highest office in the land that his death is the fault of all of us "leftist terrorists."
Spencer Cox using magical thinking and lies to push his agenda? How mormon of him.
L - lies
D - delivered
S - smiling

It will be a killer roller skating rink!
Not if there are gold speed bumps.
"Can you elaborate on that and be more specific?"
Redundant.
"Mr. President, now that you are done mourning for your dear dead friend, what about JEFFREY EPSTEIN?!?!?"
EPSTEIN, EPSTEIN, EPSTEIN.
I'm very disappointed in Cox.It seemed, at first, that he was one of those rare decent Republicans, but he's clearly parroting the party line.
Utah, Republican, Mormon. There was never any hope of him being decent and forthright.

"Leftist Ideology" is just slang for "The Teachings of Christ".
I'm tired.
So very, very tired.

Stop calling it an assassination.
Call it a murder. Or a school shooting.
Thank you, yes!

Kirk was Catholic, I'm pretty sure. To the far right evangelicals, be you a Popeist or a follower of the Angel Moroni, you are equally a heretic.
"Well, that was fast. Looks like Charlie Kirk got the old Ivana Trump treatment from Trump, "
They are going to use him as compost for the first hole green like they did Ivanka for the tee box?
Better buried in trumps golf course than in Arlington where it looked like he was headed.
Service in the Groyper wars does get you full honors from Hegseth and the Trump military.

Can someone point me to the "people on the left" who are "celebrating it openly"?
Random posters (some of them Groypers of course)
