As a former federal employee and married to one who was purged during g Trumps first term, this is scary shit indeed…. We took the Oath and this is terrible for all innocent civil servants.
Livelsberger and Jabbar have something in common - both were multiply-divorced veterans who apparently were misogynistic. Has anyone checked if Pete Hegseth is looking at renting a pickup from Turo?
Or, you know, maybe it's not confusion at all. Maybe it's just raging hatred of women fueled with the Macho Trump myth, all going up in a "grab 'em by the pussy" explosive orgasm.
There's nothing like a bunch of weak men telling each other they're strong. Like bull.
Weird. It's almost as if half rhe country stopped thinking. Before the Agricultural Revolution there was the Cognitive Revolution when Homo Sapiens first figured out how to think about things they couldn't actually see or hear. That was the dawn of Unreality and Alternative Facts, i.e., lies. Took a while for those genes to make it across most of the gene pool, but here we are. We are the next Big Extinction. Malthus was right but for the wrong reason. Maybe whatever survives that will do better next time. RIP Reality. May angels sing you to your rest.
"It’s almost more that these people have convinced themselves that Republicans stand for everything they want and like, even when they are out here actively proposing the complete opposite."
This.
Yes, the USA Democratic Party doesn't do enough to close the gap between rich and poor (Though Biden's administration did more than most), but that doesn't mean that the not-Democrat party is better. That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works. Fucking binary thinking is a curse.
Democrats are the party of black people, other minorities, and feminists, so they’re more interested in helping those people than white Americans.
I also think this thinking slants media coverage against Democrats. The core of the Republican Party is white men. White men’s issues and point of view have always taken priority over other groups in what society thinks us important.
Honestly, I don't think rank-and-file Rs -- and especially MAGAts -- pay any attention to policies whatsoever until the leopards eat their faces. Their party is like their football team; it doesn't actually "mean" anything and is instead a blank slate onto which they project whatever meanings and values they see as good, and to which they devote complete loyalty just because it's the "team" they've chosen to identify with. The fact that the team doesn't actually support or stand for any of that comes as a complete shock.
The sports team analogy is very apt. "A complete shock" would imply they realize they are being conned. They not only don't know, they don't care. Loyalty in the face of all adversity is what matters.
And it shows the same lack of rationality that many people bring to their support of sports teams.
If you are a fan of, say a musician, or a director, or some other artist, it's because you like the art they produce, and the style they produce it with. If they stop producing art you like, you stop being a fan, even though you may still like and enjoy the older stuff.
But if you are a fan of a sports team, for many fans, what the team is actually doing is immaterial. People say things like "Man, it's hard to be an Oilers fan this year, the team is shit". When I ask "Wait, how come you are a fan of something you don't think is good?" the answer is something like "Oh, you have to stick by your team". It's not about how talented they are, or how fun it is to watch them, it's about identity.
And so is politics, for a lot of people. More on the right than the left, I think, though you see some of it on the left, too. It makes no sense to me, but it's how it goes, I guess.
I've read the same thing about people who join extreme religious cults, are loyal to Chevy or Ford, are a flat earther, etc. The actual doctrine doesn't really matter as long as it demands absolute loyalty. What counts it the feeling of camaraderie against the whole world, being part of a close-knit tribe of fellow believers, of being special. That’s what MAGA really is.
As long as there are morons like Livelsberger, FOX will be there to poison their minds for profit. Rupert Murdoch deserves most of the credit for the state of the country at this point.
"A lot of right-wing dreams were dashed last week after it was revealed that Matthew Livelsberger, the guy who blew himself up in a Cybertruck in front of a Las Vegas Trump hotel, was not some big (literally) flaming liberal."
Boy, the MSM sure has a lot of nerve to destroy the wet dreams of the RINOs by reverting to facts and truth, both poison to those in the New GOP.
BTW, does anybody know where these intrepid reporters and editors have been hiding for at least the past four years? They spent that time actively *not* covering the bloviations, bovine scat, threats, completely made up figures to prove a point, inability to be truthful... being vomited out of the Fulvous Flatulence's dog-ass of a mouth, by endlessly repeating "we're not covering him because it's just Mooseballs Mussolini being Mooseballs Mussolini, and certainly he can't be serious." Had they done their actual jobs, you know reporting the news no matter where it emanated from, including *not* reporting every positive that came out of Pres Biden's administration as somehow ominous and dangerous to the country, then the next four years (at a minimum) wouldn't turn into the penultimate fucking shitshow in which we're going to have to live.

"This seems like a weird reaction to Republicans winning Congress, the Senate and the Presidency, but okay."
Maybe I'm misreading this, but Livelsberger didn't say to make a clean sweep and start all over again. I thought he was saying to rid Congress of everyone with a D after their name -- even though there are probably some Rs he wants gone, too -- and anyone "woke" in the military ranks:
"Try peaceful means first, but be prepared to fight to get the Dems out of the fed government and military by any means necessary."

“Focus on strength and winning,” Livelsberger wrote. “Masculinity is good and men must be leaders. Strength is a deterrent and fear is the product.”
* Masculinity, in and of itself is neither good nor bad; it all depends on how one expresses it. OTOH, toxic masculinity (like the type Livelsberger wants in control) is... toxic;
* Yes, men must be leaders but so must women. True leadership doesn't depend on one's sex or gender;
* Inducing fear in someone is not strength, it's bullying.

“The number of homeless on our street is embarrassing and disgusting. Have some pride and take care of this.”
This includes his brothers and sisters in arms. It's bad enough that there are so many homeless, but the number of veterans is exceedingly disgusting to me. These people volunteered to put their lives on the line if need be, only to be tossed aside when their enlistment terms expire. Our government has failed them, and by extension so have too many Americans.
but remember, that guy with the dark skin and the funny name who also wrote about extreme beliefs and rented an electric truck used in a horrific crime...he was a terrorist. THIS GUY was just a depressed and held down white man
This is cute

Very sad that a mind can be forced into this kind of "pretzel logic' leading to a needless death and another child with no dad.
Asshole.
>>a lack of ... morales<<
Wow! So he's saying we have a lack of people named Morales, eh? How, oh how might we fix that?

Agreed. Heavy tribalism. At night, the ice weasels come.

So Livelsberger believed in liberal values but hated liberals. Figures.
