Not sure how 2012 is one of the W years.

Just glanced up from my laptop to the TV and there was Karoline Leavitt lying about something - "posing a grave threat to the United States . . . " and a thought dawned on me. We often talk about how much these people lie about things they've said and which can be confirmed but it's that they don't seem to think that those of a certain age can remember hearing the same old bullshit over the years, time and time again. Different mouth, same lies,

I admit I don’t know anything about VA’s budget plans. But rolling together tax cuts with increased services always concerns me. You get what you pay for, and if you want services you pay taxes. Now if they’re going to get enough from the data centers to cover it, great! Or maybe tax a few millionaires’ and billionaires’ wealth - bring it on! But overpromising to get elected then having to backtrack when you run into reality is what got Labour into the mess they’re in, in Jolly Olde England.

Ta, Marcie. She's a star.

Indictments are not convictions. This is especially true if trumpy's corrupt government is indicting his political enemies.

I was in Frederick today for a couple of hours. No bueno. I’m sure there are lovely parts to it, but I only saw the industrial area wastelands/trump signs parts.

Abigail Spanberger reached across the aisle to work with Garrett Graves R, LA, and built a bipartisan coalition to force a floor vote that bypassed house leadership that led to the passing of the Social Security fairness act, the second to the last bill Biden signed before the closing of the Congress. She has tenacity, grit, and a passion for fairness. Congratulations on your new governor.

Yeah, as a lifelong Virginian, I gotta say Spanberger has REALLY surprised me...I'll take it! I'm still a little 'concerned' over the way she trash talked Mamdani, leaning into the predictable freakout over 'SoCiaLIsmZ!11!!

But I let that slide because fighting Trump and MAGA IS the ONE thing that the entire spectrum on the left can rally behind

Tell her. When she first found out about the Social Security issue, it was because one of her constituents told her. And her first response was, “I’m sure you’re mistaken that can’t possibly be right.” And then she found out that it was, and she did something about it.

So tell her.

I think Mamdani's success will speak for itself. The hatred of socialism is a vibe thing and not a policy thing that one can be wrong about. Her ability to admit she was wrong about a policy is one thing...In any case, a tempest in a teapot. I'm quiet happy with her fighting spirit...

I'm happy for you that you have a governor who is open to hearing ideas and open to changing her mind.

Sadly, we are not all so fortunate...

yeah, I have been quite impressed! wasn't expecting it...

You treat government employees like shit, make them the enemy, terrorize them and act gleeful about it. And then they turn on you and your party where they live and vote. Who saw that coming?

Right. A big part of their electorate was fired by Peeon Musk.

I voted today. I always do in-person early voting. Today was the first time **evah** that I had to stand in line to check in and get my ballot. 1:30 in the afternoon and the place was HOPPING. There were signs all over the place outside. Both the red and blue tents were fully staffed. I stopped by the Blue tent, not because I needed information, but I wanted to wave over to the red tent and let them know I was at the blue tent. Juvenile, I know, I know, but the elderly need to get enjoyment where they can.

NOICE!

Where are you?

I'm in Richmond myself

I need to find where I can early vote...Never done it before!

ElderlyLoudCatWomyn's avatar

Here is the Richmond City link to early voting locations. It looks like there are three.

Thanks for this! I’m in Richmond too and didn’t realize early voting had started! I’ll do it this week- I’m pretty excited to give a big middle finger to Texas - we shall finish what they started- and because we are blue Virginia, we will do it better

He's 32 now, so he would have been 9 around 2003. Maybe the 2012 is a typo for 2002?

They better watch themselves. Those Silicon Valley techbros will just up and move somewhere where the folks love them.

Just don't mention that the folks there also all have trucknutz on their F150's.
