Yeah, as a lifelong Virginian, I gotta say Spanberger has REALLY surprised me...I'll take it! I'm still a little 'concerned' over the way she trash talked Mamdani, leaning into the predictable freakout over 'SoCiaLIsmZ!11!!

I voted today. I always do in-person early voting. Today was the first time **evah** that I had to stand in line to check in and get my ballot. 1:30 in the afternoon and the place was HOPPING. There were signs all over the place outside. Both the red and blue tents were fully staffed. I stopped by the Blue tent, not because I needed information, but I wanted to wave over to the red tent and let them know I was at the blue tent. Juvenile, I know, I know, but the elderly need to get enjoyment where they can.
OT - Iran is a shit show. The fucks sank a ship that was sailing home from a rendezvous with several other countries doing harmless exercises. The fucks dropped bombs on little girls. The accusations the fucks are the ones that did this criminal atrocity can no longer be denied. They are guilty as fuck of killing 165+ little girls. And back here in the US job numbers tanked. I've started a folder of RW's more asinine "polls." Plus, I've started sending him messages a couple of times a month. For instance, the last one I sent explained to him why the voting law the GOP was sponsoring through Congress would hurt GOP voters more than DEM voters. I explained that GOP voters have a much higher marriage rate (~75%) than DEMs (~60%) and that further DEM women are less likely to adapt their husbands' names. Therefore, far more GOP women voters would need to go through the new voting registration process than DEM women. I explained that I understood he hated women, but that in this instance his actions seemed short sighted. At some point I intend to make a compendium of his more idiotic statements.
I'm really pleased to see that a lot of the new Dems are women. I don't necessarily think they will be better than men, but I am a firm believer in equality and women have long been underrepresented.

Gas is verging on hyper-inflation. Last week around here gas was mostly $2.89 a gallon. I passed 7-11 and it was $3.39.
