I know dems have a lot on their plates but this is why they need to get out in front of the new class of drugs for alzheimer's. The price tag is insane.
This is exactly my situation. I was diagnosed at 27 with Type 2, and my endocrinologist said I have probably been “insulin resistant” (his words) my whole life and was just so ridiculously active in my teens and early twenties I never had to worry about it. Now that I’m 43, apparently my pancreas is starting to produce less and less insulin along with my increasing resistance, so rather than go crazy with all these fancy new things to reduce my resistance, my PCP just asked if I minded injecting myself with insulin because it’s cheaper, easier, and you can calibrate your use better. Talk about a no-brainer of a decision…
A1c hovers between 6.1 and 6.3 so I’m happy with that. Thank you for your suggestions. I remember now that my doctor once explained the insulin option. Best to you!
You selfish, greedy bastard - you want your life-saving medication to be affordable enough that you can, y'know, purchase enough to reliably save your life? Did you know that poor little pharma feels so sad frowny face about maybe having to innovate WITHOUT getting disgustingly rich that they'll just STOP and then TONS OF OTHER PEOPLE AND PROBABLY BABIES AND WHATNOT WILL DIE? Do you want that on your conscience? YOU WANT BABIES TO DIE? Well suck it up and ration that insulin or else the baby gets it.
It looks like the insulin analogs were first available in 1996. It's been 25 years. How much R&D have they spent on it since? A dollar-two-ninety-eight?
Also Katie Porter had a handy dandy chart about how much of all that Profit $ goes into R&D.https://www-rollingstone-co...[it’s the tiny pink dot] [the green dot is sales & marketing, the blue dot is stock buybacks & dividends]Gotta love how much more efficient that is than a government operation not centered on profit.
Thanks! I got an incredible amount of GOOD genetic stuff but also got the short straw on diabetes. Neither of my parents had (or maybe more accurately, ever took a test for) diabetes but all my uncles on both sides of the family had it. It just is what it is and given the relatively minor stuff I have to do compared to others that have it so much worse, I am not complaining.

With or without polonium?

Right! Disappointment can equal cookies :(
All of which can be addressed by diet. It doesn't require a special drug that costs as much as $93.00
I'm pretty sure that Big Pharma gets a lot of government money and tax breaks to pay for its "innovations."
I've heard Biden wants to.
BiQ Pharma at it as always. Profits ahead of patients. BiQ Pharma profits matter.
Katie Porter's breakdown of how pharma companies actually spend money was illuminating.

Ya know ... the world has totally weirded out, man. Cheering Walmart.
What's next? Cheering Comcast?
Good luck! I've had no real problem with injecting myself - the needle is so short that you usually never even feel it.
