Just make the slaves pay to get in to work each day - they'll have to get night jobs that actually pay money (probaby a quarter a day - which is what my "holy pure christian" friend who is a right winger thinks is a fair wage to pay) in order to keep the slavery 'job'.

Is that the one that was started by the alcoholic drunk driving people killer Walton sister?

Now that battling income inequality is a conservative talking point, Walmart employees should be getting a living wage increase by...oh, never.

Wow - I hope this doesn't force Alice Walton into the SNAP program.

How much is Walmart going to raise the employee's cost for their uniforms and use of the store's bathrooms?

Walmart is opening god knows how many more "supercentres" here in Canada in the next year or two. The end is nigh. Already it's the only place in town to buy tube socks and underwear. I travel elsewhere rather than darken its door.

Walmart is like an employment version of a freak show. People used to gawk at the sideshow freaks and think to themselves "I may be miserable, but at least I don't have two heads". In the same way, we look at Walmart and think "my job sucks, but at least I don't work in that shithole". Unless, of course, you do work at Walmart, in which case you are fucked.

Sam would be spinning in his grave if he hadn't burned himself to ashes from the friction years ago.

That's exactly what is going on- find that wage sweet spot that will be just barely enough to derail organization efforts and stem some of the bad PR. Their plan is to offset it through attrition, rather than outright layoffs, in order to avoid the charge that they fired people. Of course this means that their already shitty customer service, thanks to their chronic understaffing, will get even worse.
