I think this unseats the venerable canned clams in terms of being a monster indicator...

I just love reading this stuff! You betcha it gives me hope too. It sounds so great makes me want to have party hats and those little blow thingys! and we haven't even had an election yet. I am going to just bask in the joy of reading somebodies plan for our country that does not include walls, higher taxes, separating families at the border, and a president who is not a traitor lurking Frankenstein, who fumbles through life just starting fires and such. More $$$ for you Wonkette, thanks.

It was an obsolete design when it was built, and we've learned a lot in the last 60 years.

On top of that, they did some obviously crazy, dangerous, stupid shit that lead directly to the meltdown. Many of those things aren't even possible with modern designs.

I don't think we can be so complacent about beating El Presidente next year.

Remember how all the polls showed Clinton would win in 2016?

I'll take any reasonable plan, as long as it's enacted.

Chernobyl was an outdated design run by incompetents who deliberately disregarded safety protocols.

Fukushima was hit by the double whammy of a seriously major earthquake followed by a tsunami that was just high enough (by about a foot) to overtop their protective barriers.

We might have fuckups running reactors now and in the future, but saying that the Fukushima disaster was caused by an inherent flaw in nuclear power is disingenuous, at best.

We should plan on keeping it until it's no longer necessary.

They really can't say that and get elected. Liz will have a plan. Joe will want to continue driving his camaro.

Ok. Then Trump again. Better to be pure. (I'll be very surprised if Biden is the dem candidate).

Why do you go from one extreme to the other? Obviously if Biden happens to be our candidate I will hold my nose and vote for him.

Nuclear is just another nonrewable. Eventually it runs out and we're back at square one. Time to bite the bullet and go with the sun and wind.
